This was over the course of two weekends but… I installed a new thermostat, new water pump, new water hoses, cleaned the cold start injector, replaced the fuel damper, installed new distributor, adjusted the timing, throughly cleaned the throttle body (had to make a new gasket by hand), reset the TPS, and then reset the timing. I'm still chasing a rough idle issue and I'll be replacing all the vac. hoses any day now (waiting for hose to arrive).
I've been driving this rig (an '89 fj62) for about five years as a loaner from my sister. About three months ago my sister and her husband decided to just give it to me. Now all I can think about is what I wan to do next on it. I love it!!

^^^Nice score!! Post pics

What did I do with my cruiser? I just enjoyed it. I loaded up a kayak on top of it and enjoyed the view. Then I drove to a swampy lake and paddled around fishing and hanging out with the gators. My cruiser gets me fun places, and always always always, gets me into conversations.

Scrapyard trip this morning!

Sound deadened the rear half of the truck!

A couple pics of the process

And how are the results of sound dampening the rear?
I quite like it! I find that the truck rattles a lot less. I took it on a gravel road and the noise of rocks hitting the wheel wells was GREATLY decreased. I plan to do the whole truck with the same material, and Ill be able to do a better review of the affects.
I really need to dampen the front with my diesel going in because its going to be louddddd

Then put it back together again with three pedals, but not until driving around with no dash for awhile, because Mad Max.

Not quite this weekend. Just got these put on and painted. Bay Area Metal Fabrication, in Benicia, Ca. $544.xx installed. These are the 67 inch for the Fourrunner with a kick out at the rear. I painted with satin black(don't pay any attention to the drips) Have 3 outriggers(?) to the frame and seem pretty sturdy. Going to finish them up with a little grip tape for some anti slip when standing on them.
