What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (34 Viewers)

Almost embarrassed to post this for letting it go for a 1k miles since I've gotten the truck earlier this year. Changed front and rear diff oils and the rear was terrible. Ran a quart through it to try and flush it a little bit more. No big chunks of metal were found on the magnet but couldn't really tell what drained out with the rest of the oil. Transmission and transfer case will be done this weekend.

part #86120-08010. I believe it was available from 1998-2000 4Runner, Avalon, Sienna and Tercel. It's looks more period correct than the actual radio that came in the 60 series. I bought it for $25 on eBay. :D
I believe Corollas and Camrys are on that list as well! My goal was AM/FM/Cassette/Bluetooth and this setup checks all the boxes. The radio looks appropriate for the truck and the green backlight matches the stock backlighting in the 60.

But yes, mine is wired the same way, just using different Bluetooth electronics. Your link doesn't seem to work by the way.

Not completed over the weekend, but completed in time for the weekend: Installed a 4Plus U-bolt flip kit. Cool upgrade and really well made. I appreciate how it tucks the lower shock mounts up higher on the axle and out of the way from rocks.

Radiator games:

^that is the drain plug from a CSF 2708 (I think) replacement radiator which was installed ~ 1999, it failed yesterday. I was visiting my local TSC and when I returned to the parking lot there was a steady drip drip on the pavement :bang: , so I checked that plastic wingnut and it came right off, leaving the rest in the bunghole.

Welp, long story short - went back inside and bought a M10 - 1.25 x 20 hex cap screw, drove home and took a dremel to the plastic inside the threaded brass insert, drained the coolant, chased the threads and transferred the rubber grommet to the screw, liberally lubed the threads with copper anti-seize and installed it. Voila. No leaks 🤞🏼
I’m wondering if I should have used teflon tape instead?

Passed smog. Found documents of the last test in 2013 and it was parked since. Guy I bought it from would just drive it around the neighborhood every couple years because he couldn't pass it. Told me it probably needed a new catalytic converter.
Didn't replace but did carb clean, all vacuum lines and corrected some that were wrong. New plugs, distributor cap and rotor.

Many thank you's to The Rust Famers! Installed a NEW Upper and Lower thermostat housing on the FJ62 today. So happy with the fit and finish! Working my way through a few heater hoses and hope to have the rig back on the road soon!

Started the rear bumper build w Mark’s (@Fourrunner) kit. Will be a single (half) swing out. Pic from yesterday but laid out and prepped all the hitch receiver bits today.

Just noticed a Mud vendor sticker peeking around the taillight 🤘🏽
