They look sweet but the turbo 4 cylinder scares me away. If I win the lottery, maybe the Lexus GX 550 in the future.
Its feels like as much power as my hemi V8 I traded in but way better gas mileage. As zippy anyways. Not sure why you would need more? I am very happy with the engine. I don't miss my full size truck at all! This rides so much nicer.

Repaired a leaking A/C hose, changed the drier, upgraded the condensor and changed all o-rings. A/C blows nice and cold now with zero leaks. Also bought Heatshields for all the windows in the cruiser. They come specific for each window. The fitment isn't 100% but damn close. Hoping this helps the A/C keep the big cab cooler in the brutal south Texas sun.

Yesterday morning on some logging roads I occasionally heard the screech of the fan hitting the shroud. Great, a broken motor mount. Cut my field trip short and went home. Almost ordered a new motor mount but dug around in the parts stash and found a used one. I expected the driver’s side mount to be broken but it wasn’t. Checked the passenger side and at the mount to block, one bolt was lying on the mount, a second loose, and only the top bolt secure. I had to loosen all four nuts on both rubber motor mounts to lift the 2F enough to rebolt the mount to the block. One bolt or the threaded hole in the block is stripped, I’ll live with that for now.

Perfect stance! What’s your setup? I’ve got to get my stinkbug stance corrected.

I have Alcan springs which I asked for 1.5" over stock and soft ride knowing I wasn't going to load it up with much weight. The ride feels stiffer than stock but the recently installed bilstein shocks helped a lot. It's going on about 15 years with the springs and they are holding up well. I installed a set of OME on a friends 60 just prior to mine and it sat higher than I wanted and it was a stinkbug. However, the ride was better than my Alcans.

Got my Dobinson MMR dampers installed on the front. Thanks @TRAIL TAILOR for providing these. I was able to run the remote reservoirs up inside the engine compartment which makes it super easy to adjust them and keeps them out of the wheel wells. Got plenty of clearance around them too with my 255/85 Yokohamas. Drivers side was a bit of a challenge as I had to move the steering box to slide the reservoir through but the passenger side was a breeze.

Which model Braid wheels are these? I've run their wheels on racecars before but didn't know they made a set like this for our stuff. I'd be super interested in more info.

I ordered these from the fj company when they were having a sale. Like you, I was aware of them from the street racing industry but these also have The FJ Company cast in the wheel so I’m betting that they are only available through the fj company. They are very nice wheels as expected and come with nice stainless clips to attach the hubcaps.

ooohhh they're FJco wheels. That explains everything. I'm familiar with their wheels but was unaware that they were made by Braid, so when I saw the Braid logo on yours I was intrigued. I've been going back and fourth between the Fifteen52 analogs, the FJco wheels, and a set of Crimson Dean's from Japan. These look really good

Thanks! been very happy with them. all your ideas on wheels are great so it’s down to personal preference. The FJ company does run sales on them from time to time and since I wanted 5 the sale was an added benefit.

Finally swapped out my 4.56 mechanical locker third member and stock front 3.70 third member in my 87 60 for 4.11s. What a pia

I replaced my 3.70s third members with 4.11 third members out of a 62 over the past two weeks, and yeah … total pain in the ass. All simply because the axles need to come out 4”. Glad they’re in though,

I picked up a bunch of parts from the powder coater and anodizer.

Then got to work removing the old C channel reinforcements in preparation for installing the @TRAIL TAILOR C channel. This is a classic job where the right tools make all the difference. Got one side done and am about 90% through the other side. Was concerned about the level of rust but most is on the old reinforcement vs the frame rail. Looking forward to getting this completed and then getting my tank and new bumper installed!

Replaced the old carb with a brand new one which I still had laying around. Drives like a dream now.
Will rebuilt the old one sometime. Will be a cold weather project I guess 🤙👍

@Godwin maybe asking the obvious but I want to be sure:

Is that a brand new 3f OEM carb that we can obtain from Toyota and it will work ‘as is’on a basically stock 2f?
