They're on! I may be biased but I think they look and fit perfect.

Rocky Mountain high?
Meh.. I looked at my gauge a bit closer and think the fuel may have just "clicked" off a bit sooner than normal. While it has been running great lately, it's probably closer to the normal 11.5-12 range.

so to answer your question @WSOPgold2012 - maybe a little Rocky Mountain high was involved. :smokin:

Got some BMW male buckles to replace the stock buckles on my seat belts so I could use the female buckles on the BMW seats I installed in my 62. I took the floor anchors off the belts, slid the new buckles on and had an upholstery shop sew it back together. So much cleaner, my buckles were getting kinda ratty.

That helps the gas mileage a little. "Hey man, how's my driving?"
"Hey man, I think we are parked"

Is Valley Hybrids the source for these caster shims?
Mine came from Manafre. They're cast aluminum. Maybe steel would be better? I'm not sure if these will be more prone to cracking, but I have certainly wondered about it. So far they seem to be holding up, though I haven't asked the truck to do anything other than get groceries in the past week.

well well well

as all things go expanding into uncharted territory proved to be very POSITIIVE on the fusible links front FJ60 8/80-9/87 :D

Get the steel ones from Georg at Valley Hybrids. The aluminum ones will deform over time resulting in loose u-bolts.

That's what I was worried about. Thanks for the heads up.

Removed the rear heater finishing the hardware removal portion of rear heater delete project. Now to fill in the space with dynomat, padding and carpet patch. This will free up space to accommodate an amplifier install.

Replaced the radiator, water pump, and major hoses this weekend. I had been running a CSF radiator and replaced it with the same model. The old model was FJ60 specific, i.e. without lower auto tranny cooler tank, and the diameter of the drain hole was 12 mm. In anticipation of replacing the plastic drain plug with a brass one I bought a Dorman 12 x 1.25 drain plug. It doesn't fin the new radiator which has hole 10 mm in diameter. It'll work for now.

I saw somewhere on Mud a neat filling trick using the upper hose as a fill point. Since I had a new hose, the old hose, plus the fill neck I used all three. Fill neck on the old radiator was not well angled and filling it to capacity was tricky. Using the upper hose as a fill point seems to work quite well. Filling in through the t-stat housing also seems to aid in eliminating air. I first filled through the t-stat housing then began adding water into the upper rad hose and with 2+ gallons in (maybe 3) air was burping from the t-stat hose.

Ran it to temp and capped it off.
