Last year I desmogged my 62 and now I'm cleaning it up as much I can by pulling the air injection rail, deleting coolant to the TB and IAC, and only running the necessary vac lines. Also sand blasted the manifold inside and out. Waiting on manifold gasket now to finish. Will also check valve lash but I adjusted them last year so expect them to be good. I would really like to pull the air pump bracket but I'd probably need two shorter bolts and kind of unsure about messing with head bolts. Lmk if you think it'd be ok.

I have embarked on a personal mission to completly map out the 100% LED update of both the 60 and 62 , My way ........

using All shock proof water proof TOP shelf bulbs , NO super bright china SH#T here ....

i started with the front side markers this evening , i applied NOT a traditional AMBER silly orange led bulb rather JDM canary Yellow Tone , i have not yet seen offered here in the usa main land ?

the circle of 5th's and my anaploge color wheel allow this mesh ..

the results well ...............here they are

first few are comparisons shots with a KOITO filament still installed on the left , NO photo shop only JDM unicorn sparkles .... 🦄

Finally after ten years of sounds of silence, I installed the Alpine stereo I removed from my
FJ40 in 2004! LOL. I also undated my gauges and got the back lights to work. For those with
factory brackets, What was Toyota thinking?! Anyhow, this is my solution. It’s certainly solid
and I think I got the angle to the dash right.

Had pics but they were on the phone. I also got the Westach gauges backlight done.
I like the old school sweep gauges, and the backlight option was green so matches the old interior lights.
The Westach pod is thin plastic crap, with crappier mount. So I used a window frame rear view mirror
base from a old Nissan truck, and weld bonded that to the pod. I used two sided 3M tape to stick to
dash, it holds well but is removable. Sorry, but to the purists this is where I like constant use gauge.
I also have stashed a mint dash in the attic for the future day of restoration. (🤣😂 not gonna happen!
I’m gonna drive the wheels off this thing and use it up!!)
For surround of the stereo deck to eliminate the gap I cut mass loaded vinyl, basically 1/8” thick
heavy flexible vinyl so it has been pushed in from the back and is non glare un-noticeable.
Recycle garbage for good use!

Last week did a coolant flush and installed a new t-stat on the 3FE. While running it to burp the system the engine had a hid idle, up to 2500 but no lower than 1500. Also began throwing a code 51 pointing to the TPS. The TPS is original from 1988 and with 300-350k on it. Had a used spare and swapped it in but the adjustment was a little off. Have a new on the way that should correct the issue.

No heading indicator?

Not very exciting, but satisfying...I diagnosed and troubleshot my FJ60's hard cold starting problem. I dread electrical problems, and don't think I'm any good at it, but I was able to do all the diagnostics on my Cold Start Injector, determine that the time switch and injector had continuity, as well as all the connections, pull the injector, soak it in carb cleaner over night, put it all back together, and voila - truck starts right up when cold.

Next up - try and get my rear wiper and sprayer to function....

Curious, what does deleting the coolant flow to the throttle body accomplish? Don't recall reading that in any 3FE desmog info.

That intake plenum looks great...hopefully it stays a lot cleaner without the EGR devil hooked up to it.
