What are you using in the mud flaps to reseal the rubber? Is that windshield urethane?
No. It's lots of gloss black paint. Once that cures I was going to give them a good soak with Rust Check. I figured I didn't want to try and seal things up totally since it didn't work out that well for Toyota the first time around.

Got a few small things ticked off the list....

New guy here; please excuse my ignorance, but what is that canister next to the heater hoses for?

BTW...as much as I don't personally like chrome, your wheels look bit@h'in with the red body and black frame!

Thanks. That canister is the fuel/water separator. My truck is an FJ60 but with an HJ60 drivetrain so it's specific to the diesel engine...

Thanks...Figured it might have to do with diesel. I should probably get smart on diesels. I've got a donor truck showing up tomorrow that might be a future diesel conversion if the body and frame are salvageable!!!

Drove it into the city to charge the battery.

Drove it to the shooting range down in the canyon for some refresher training this afternoon. We paired off in twos for the drills. I paired off with my Junior High School geometry teacher - we live in the same neighborhood. I was in his class 53 years ago. It was great to see him still active and shooting :-).

What year? Manual?

1976 C25. 350 4bbl with the SM465, Corporate 14 bolt with 4.10. Also it’s a crew @ 21ft long.

Love them square bodies!
I sure miss my 76 with a big block.

They were new when I was a kid, I’ve always liked them. I bought it from the original owner and got a stack of paperwork. 45,000 miles and original paint. Far from mint, but perfectly useable and at a fraction of the price of a new 3/4 ton.

This is me next. Did you just have to trim back the fender a bit to get it to fit? Noticble difference?

Trimming not necessary according to others that have done this. Line up the steering shaft yoke and get it started before aligning and bolting down the box to the frame rail. Can't say about any noticeable change since I haven't driven it yet but no leaks while refilling the system and that's was my main objective.

Ask and you shall receive. Picked this up from a member today. Cut out of work for an hour to go grab it.

Love this ih8mud place! :flipoff2:

Thanks @Alex79

Good score

Fair warning to all: if you replace your clutch and decide to do a rear main seal at the same time, liberally apply grease to the seal lip. I apparently didn’t put enough on mine, and developed a “belt squeak” type noise from that area. Luckily, I was able to remove the inspection cover and take some lithium grease spray and one of those little red extension sprayers and get it between the flywheel and bearing cap and spray the s*** out of it. Noise is gone now. I was planning on pulling it all back apart this weekend and luckily I no longer have to.

I’d also like to credit this forum, as I found several posts about similar issues and how to fix it.
