Applied an “Unleaded fuel only” sticker on the my 60.
Also, installed new cylinder gaskets on my key cylinders. No more wobbling.

Finished installing the temporary exhaust system, using the donor '89 FJ62's parts, on my '86 FJ60 project vehicle, along with the oxygen sensors. Almost ready to fire up and break in the rebuilt 3FE. Still need to install the driveshafts, dash, flywheel cover, side mirrors, etc. to get it roadworthy for the break-in period. After that, it's off to the custom exhaust shop to have them fabricate a new section from the exhaust manifolds to the FJ60 OEM catalytic converter. I plan on keeping the oxygen sensors the same distance from the exhaust manifolds as they are currently, replacing them if necessary. Hopefully I won't have a lot of codes when I check out the fuel injection system per the FSM.

A bit of work yesterday !

FJ62 getting some love:

New HD OME
80 series FF axle
Compete diff rebuild by ZUK
Harrop eLocker

And---If anyone needs an FJ62 rear axle I'll make you a deal on it once I'm tires on the ground and driving.

Thanks... I need to crawl back under there to have a look... it just SEEMS like there just isn't enough cable to make it. I hadn't done anything special in my old 85FJ60 when I installed a new PB cable so you are probably right...

Anyone else?

Went fishing!
And on the way home...I’m really excited about this, and have 1 solid witness...I PASSED a minivan on the highway!

It was a great cruiser day!

Fenton Lake? Or ??? Catch anything other than the minivan?

Using @Dixon Santana 's lead on speedo correction for oversized tire I contacted Chuck at Commercial Speedometer Service in Sacramento, CA. He sent me an inline 20% correction box to get the stock speedo reading correct with 35" tires. All I can say is what a well spent $88 to my door for this. It literally took me less than 2 minutes to install this much needed upgrade.
Thanks for sharing info Dixon.

Applied an “Unleaded fuel only” sticker on the my 60

Can't wait to put a diesel only sticker on my 4BT swap.
Got the Champion Radiator the other day. The innercooler is on the back burner at the aluminum fabrication shop. Hopefully it's done early this week.

Do 80 rear axles with an E locker fit under a 60 without heavy modifications?

I would think so. As long as the actuator motor clears the spring, it should fit fine. But you do need to clean all the brackets off the 80 axle, re-work brake lines, new brake master, change out the e-brake cable for an 80 one. So it isn't trivial, but it's pretty straight forward. Takes about 2 full weekends!

I've got 1 full day in it so far, and I'm at least a day from dropping it back on it's tires. (waiting for my 255/85R16s to come in)

Realize you need different wheels to clear the 80 series brake caliper. I'm keeping it simple and using 80 series wheels.

No flat bed, no tow truck...I did not pass it on a boat, I did not pass it with a goat!
IF THIS EVER HAPPENS AGAIN, I WILL RECORD IT FOR IRREFUTABLE TESTIMONY!

...I’m still in shock!

We all believe you, no proof needed. I might have passed someone once. Maybe. But FJ60s are what they are, and what they are not, is fast. You are using it in it's comfort zone. Cruise on.

Wheeled it for my first time. Wicked mud, snow and ice chunks. Gremlin Graveyard up in Monson Mass. Aired down to 15 and I was thoroughly surprised by how capable my truck was... I was the only 60 in the entire group of maybe 15 cars; bunch of 4Runners @chill will (was our leader), an FJ Cruiser (@Russ4Ru), one FJ40 from LI, a built from only frame up FJ40 (green ?) with an alum body from BC (he's the one who's fan went down), one guy has an old 4Runner and I found out he lives practically next door to me... he knew my truck from passing by on 66. Its good to know there's someone so local to me. We split up in two groups. One truck had his fan die in my group and in the other group a guy broke a CV. I brought my female friend for company... she's stuck by me for years through all my kid and men crap so it felt good having her with me even though she was shopping on her phone while I drove.
