Drove her to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest. First long distance drive since the compound turbo install.

I pulled some out of my california quarters not long ago. Word to everyone- check the inside of your quarters... I still need to abraid, clean and treat mine...
 
Built new Midi fuse block to replace fusible links at battery. Used sheet of black plexiglass, fit between arms of air cleaner bracket that mount to passenger side of engine compartment. Replaced ground cable from battery to body. New battery clamps.
 
Wrenching some more. Blood letting to get all the bad juju out of Buster. EGR delete caused a few bolts to snap. Removed the intake/exhaust. Got one bolt out, then the EZ-Out gave up the ghost. Gonna weld a washer and nut on there to see what happens, after a boat load more of PB Blaster and MAPP gas. Good times for a 35 year old manifold.

When I was in the process of pulling the wiring harness, washer bottle, and jack out of the rear quarter of my '86 FJ60 project vehicle I found three flares laying at the bottom; also two Craftsman wrenches, a 10mm and a 12mm :). Luckily no rust (other than a little on the wrenches).

Well I drove it to work today, like every day. Now that it has cooled off outside, I'm finding out how peppy my 3FE is without the air conditioning and fan clutch engaged. The seat of the pants difference is hilarious.

That is until the engine warms up enough that my intermittent #5 injector quits working, then it evens back out.

You should try that 3FE in cool weather with no AC, new Fan Club AND an H55f! You'll practically be pushed back into your uncomfortable OEM seats!
