Nice! Are those Yoko 742's the 235/85 or 7r15? Any comments on them? Any suspension work?
Yeah they are the Yoko 7r15's . So far love them as i am a fan of the pizza cutter look. It also makes my cruiser look like it just rolled out of Zimbabwe or something. I have a 2" Iron lift on it too

Searching around for a way to mount my spare inside and found a design in the 80 series that I thought might work.

The main challenge is finding a few places in the floor for bolts to be installed.

Going to drive around with it for a few days and then it will get painted up. Also going with a bigger strap so this tire doesn't become a flying object.

I think this is going to work well with my storage ideas. It feels nice and solid I'm glad to have the tire out of the way.

Will post up a parts list when complete if anyone is interested.

Dude, that's pretty goofy looking. Just put a D-ring in your wheel well and and another just rear-ward of the factory tie-down behind where you have your spare. And get a wider strap. I also put a rag under the ratchet part so it doesn't cut into the rubber.

My set-up holds my 35" spare (~100lbs) with zero movement, even after multiple jumps.

Yep, I could have done that but I didn't. I was a passenger in a rollover accident and it's amazing what goes flying. Not saying my idea is any better than yours but I do have four 1/2 inch bolts attaching it to the floor so hopefully that will help keep it in place.

With my son sitting right in front of this tire I went overkill so that it would pass my wife's inspection. If you aren't married yet you will one day understand, lol.

Have a good one!

Taking a mild break on my 60 build to baseline this 62 and update the interior. Bought it a month or so ago as I could not pass it up (just down the street from me). The intent is my brother will take it over, but I'll most likely put it on the market if he does not have the cash when the time comes. It's a clean rust free 174K rig. Came with port installed leather that I'm converting back to stock. A new (used) tank and fuel pump and it fires right up with no check engine light. Even the AC blows cold after 10 years of sitting. I have to still figure out a Trans kickdown cable issue and do some base lining on fluids etc... Attached are pics of before and some as I transition to the stock interior.

Went through and retorqued all the headbolts after doing the head at the beginning of the year. Looked at my logs and is just about 1k miles that I did it at.

Slow-mo video of the valvetrain working while I was disconnecting everything still.

Took the 60 (aka Lefty) on a leisurely Sunday drive through the southwestern corner of Anza Borrego State Park.

Some observations:

-Don't like the tires (or riding on street pressures)
-Rear brakes and parking brake need attention...not confidence inspiring to say the least
-Air conditioning needs to be fixed before desert temps go up
-Need more time in the desert as a % of total

Finally washed and drove it after roughly 8 months of work. It was fun driving around the neighborhood hearing that v8 rumble with open manifolds. Dropped her off at the exhaust shop yesterday morning.

Sharp truck. I really like the old wheels.

Swapped out all my locks - door locks / ignition / gas cap and rear hatch. Now everything works and it's ALL ON ONE KEY!!!!!!! No more hopping over the back seat to open the rear hatch or sliding over through the passenger side to open my door. Such a luxury!
Many thanks to Jason at CruiserYard.

Thanks! I love the look of the hubcaps. The 40 steelies and the hubcaps were also quite a bargain. I do feel limited to 10 inch wide tires, but I will cross that road when I get there. The BFGs should last a while.

Thanks, sorry to be lame. I just spent two whole seconds Googling it and found it.

Used my '62 to blow up an air mattress. I'm in the process of moving and have 2 or 3 of the 12v and 120v pumps back in NY somewhere, so I thought I'd skimp and blow this one up with lung power. I forgot how much work that is. Then I had an idea.... Hand throttle on 2000 rpm, garden hose extension, bypass the VSV for full vacuum to the valve and she blew it up in maybe 30 seconds!! New camping hack!

That's awesome! So when you blow a tire, you might actually blow a tire!

Any of them move? What kind of HG?
