So two days ago mine finally too a dump on me right after I pulled away from the ATM, and two minutes later a thunder storm that lasted a day and a half.... 🙄

Looks familar. I was surprised too when I replaced mine last fall.

Mine wasn’t too far from there. I resorted to not using it at all the past few months. I feel so luxurious now with a manual window that works.

And to think one merit the 60 has over the 62 is the manual windows. I imagine that if you haven't replaced your DS regulator yet, it probably needs it.
 
It just keeps getting better. My mishimoto radiator was leaking, so I decided to do all the hoses. Since I’m doing all the hoses, I may as well do the thermostat and water pump. Since I’m doing those, I may as well do the fan clutch. Since the whole front end is apart, I may as well pull the cam and do the rear timing plate gasket. On top of that, I found that the bearings on the air pump are toast, so that needs to be addressed. Blah.

A whole serious of work to be done on the 60. oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, side cover gasket, replace oil ring on dizzy, replace existing carb with fresh rebuilt carb.
Funny, instead of a desmog I am installing smog equipment that this truck did not come with when I bought it.
Need to get it CA compliant.

Started off by removing the intake/exhaust manifold had it resurfaced replacing it with new intake gasket plus new gasket for the J pipe for the EGR cooler.

You will be happy for doing all of that.

I am going to swap over the summer tires to the 60, and do an oil change, probably also instill some B-12 through the intake manifold via the vacuum line off the brake booster.
 
I thought my weekend was reasonably busy with a bit of tinkering - but certainly not compared to the above posts!!! Anyway - I did the following:

New speedo cable to stop the bouncing needle (pretty sure the one I took out didn’t follow the proper route)

Re-wired the stereo head unit and amp

Replaced the clutch master cylinder and fluid (replaced the slave cylinder last weekend after it spat its fluid for me on the highway)

Replaced the air conditioner idler (tensioner?) pulley, and belt with a new genuine pulley and correct sized belt (the old one was too wide)

got pretty deep into the dash!

After a year of collecting parts and tools and doing my homework I finally finished the conversion of the ac from R12 to R134a. Now I really have a “cool” cruiser. Next up, knuckles.
 
This past weekend a buddy of mine and I drove about 90 miles of the GA Traverse. The GA traverse runs about 390 miles from South Carolina to Alabama. To start we drove north of Helen GA and turned west on GA 348. We followed the traverse for about 95 miles and exited north of Dahlonega on FS Rd95 and Old Dial Rd.. We crossed a couple of creeks and followed the traverse east. Most all of the traverse is on dirt roads, mostly forest service roads all of which winds around the mountains and forests of N. GA. The dirt roads are connected by "country" paved roads and a few main paved 2 land thoroughfares. We had a great time. (One of roads was extremely rough. One of the fenders on my trailer broke off and the rear trailer door hinge also broke. I'm going to redesign the both of the fenders and the rear door. I should have the fenders and doors completed by this coming weekend. The starter began giving me issues (as I headed back home after the trip was over) so I'll replace it this week. Other than the starter, fender, door, we had a great time.
For part II of the trip, we'll head to Alabama and go east. Part III go back to Helen and go east to SC.
I'll take pictures next time.

Sure would like to see some pictures of this adventure 🤠
 
My timing plate leak bothered me enough to dive in. Also doing ALL the hoses, radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, etc. Luckily it came apart surprisingly easy, only took a few hours. I only needed to pop the motor up about an inch to get the cam clear of the front valence. I have to figure out a way to get those slotted timing plate bolts out though, those are a pain.
