Recent window belt swap. Accidentally dropped that rear window nut behind plastics, oops.

Blackout window trim makes SUCH a difference!
For doors, do you need to take off interior panel (I can't rember... I've glanced at a couple how-to's, just don't ever the deets)

CaptainVA,
DO you mind sharing what was the cost of armor, incl individual pieces?

It wasn't cheap but you get what you pay for. I think the total was just shy of $2k but I got free shipping for black Friday. I called around before I ordered and the only other companies that I was considering were RCI for skids and white knuckle for sliders. I felt like the RCI skids were a cheaper version of the Budbuilt hence my choice. This shows in how the RCI skids have slightly less coverage and they have changed the designs of their products as the Budbuilts were updated. I don't have any proof of this and I'm sure the RCIs are still a great product but thats just the feeling that I got. Also Bud has a degree in materials science and I talked with him for a while about the design of the products the make and it seems that he takes a lot of care to make sure that the products he sells are not built stronger than the vehicle itself. IE. the skids or sliders will break before you damage the frame or another integral part of the vehicle. This gave me confidence to feel it was worth it spend the extra ~$100 for Budbuilt (and be willing to take the time to sand and paint them). I also went with Budbuilt sliders because I think the plate attaching to the frame is a lot stronger and will cause far less stress to the frame than 3 ubolts of the white knuckle sliders when the vehicle weight is resting on the sliders.

That was a lot more than you asked for but I spent a lot of time gathering information before I made my decision so I thought I'd share the insight.

Yes. And once the screw is removed, the window belt/felt is held in place with clips. Get some plastic pry/fastener removal tools from harbour freight. About $7 for a variety of sizes.
😁
Already have them. 🤘

Thanks for the tips 👍

*Edit* today may be the day I swap them🤘

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you taking time and giving your insight!
I'm RockfordRX on Club Lexus forums and highly regard your opinion on there too!

Pulled out the old cassette player that was in when I bought it and fitted a Sony CarPlay unit. Very pleased with it, links to the phone and controls everything through the big screen. Can even have maps or Waze displayed on the big screen too. Still to finish running the cable for a reversing camera as that will take a bit of time to pull out the rear side and door trims and feed the cables through. Need a dry day for that.

Sadly, it's not a perfect fit. Sits a little too far forward and has a gap on either side. Need to find or make a bit of trim to go around it.

Also fitted a cheap dashcam up behind the mirror where it's out of the way and hard wired it into the fuse box so that it doesn't take up one of the cigarette lighter sockets. The number of times I've been on small rounds with large trucks coming round corners over the white line, I'm getting twitchy about being able to prove them at fault in a head on or similar.

Snorkel works fine. Like the look better than a normal one

rather replace the trim. Pulling interior panels is easy. Hate f***ing painting. Always looks like s*** and doesn’t last.

When did you get the Lenz Snorkel? I hear that they had some quality problems recently.

Purchased it! Have had 80 and 100 series in the past. We bought a bone stock low mileage 2005 for my wife in Oct and since then I've kind of had the itch for one as well. Sold my 100 series two weeks ago and picked up a 2007 yesterday with a few modifications. Funny thing now is that we have his and hers versions that are both white!

I packed for a drive to TX for Round Up. Groceries packed, fridges running. Trailer ready. Leaving tomorrow and driving straight through to Baton Rouge and hitting SSO, then camping remotely (no restaurants or public restrooms). Hitting west of Austin Tuesday. Mason Weds. Setup shop, chill in the wilderness for a few days then high tail it back to ATL on Sunday into Monday next week. Good shakedown run of the setup with avoiding all people given the current climate. If I get word of any closures or blocks, I will head out early and take a back road route. I should be able to get there and back on 5 fills, including the event.

What suspension in his? Gamiviti towers, Baja rack and MT/OPOR sliders? Nicely out together

Just brought my GX470 home yesterday, long drive back from South Carolina, I had to keep reminding myself its a 13 year old vehicle, because it drove great. It's an '07 non-KDSS with navigation with 122K miles. It was a single owner car with the timing belt done around 100K miles. Everything is in amazing shape mechanically, just needs some minor baselining over the summer. Super happy with the purchase!

Hah, I knew I should have included some details. Lucked out and purchased from a fellow Olde North State Cruisers member, so it's tastefully modified and well taken care of. He has also hunted down and fixed all of (fingers crossed) the weird issues over the 6 years he'd owned it.

Good eyes, you're spot on with rack and sliders.

Additionally, it has Radflo suspension, SPC front upper control arms, RCI xfer case skid and crossmember, Marlin Crawler lower control arm brace. Also has a couple of nice things inside for creature comforts, power of accessories, etc. No immediate plans to do too much other than drive it, take it camping, etc. Though I'm sure that will change at some point and I'll get the bug to make some updates (drawers/platform are top of mind).

This weekend I quickly modeled and printed an "adapter" to mount my Scangauge II on the steering column. It follows the contour of the steering column trim to provide a flat surface for the Scangauge to mount on. I used some 3M VHB double-sided tape to secure everything together.
