Saturday I replaced the used 2” Radflo rear coils and replaced them with new Icon 2” rear coils and inserted Firestone helper air bags. Still need to figure out the routing of the air lines.

And today l replaced two wheel studs that broke while removing the rear wheel. They got stressed a couple of weeks ago when I had four lug nuts come loose and the wheel started to wobble. Lucky the wheel didn’t come off and somehow didn’t loose any lug nuts.

Be careful with that installation of the airbag. It calls for a cut off isolator to be put in above the bag to protect it and give it a spot to push against the body.

Yeah unfortunately it looks like I shouldn’t have cut-off all 4 sections like the directions showed. Since the springs are taller than a stock 4Runner spring. So it looks like I will be buying new isolators.

Here is how it looks, probably should have kept at least one maybe two of the sections. I am most worried about the bottom because the bag is just going to push against the top of the bolt from the MT spring adapter.

I received my letter on the dashboard problem. At the time my dashboard looked great! So I didn't call . Three months ago well there the crack. So I called. The way I understood my letter I had to the year 2020. After talking to several Lexus reps. They said the time had expired.. Has anyone else been told this?

I thought I read somewhere that 2017 was the cutoff year, or 10 years after the sale of the vehicle, whichever is greater. I don't think the '08 and '09 GX's were part of the recall, however.

Haven’t tested them completely but was hoping they would make my ride better and feel less like a slinky. So I am replacing a piece of my used components at a time.

I didn’t like how much the rear end would drop, over an inch, just with a minimal amount of camping gear in it.

@Bluetribal Hey Mark, go to Home Depot and pick up a pair of these in the plumbing section. They fit over the MT spring adapter bolts really well and they are thick enough to not worry about the bolt penetrating. I havent finished my airbag install yet but I went ahead and test fit these a few weeks back.

Mark, did you plumb the airbags to the OEM compressor?

When I was looking to buy, all the stuff I read said the cut off to be on the list was 5/2017. You just had to get on a dealer's list before then. I bought mine in 11/16 and got on 2 dealer's lists in December and March(first dealer felt really shady, still never called me). I finally got the call from the 2nd dealer in July 2017 and got it replaced.

Scored some 17” 4Runner wheels for $50 each I believe the back spacing is less on these compared to the stock Lexus wheels. So that will be a bonus. But probably going to have to buy another 4 to get my spare
Saw another 4 for sale on CL for $250 so maybe I will talk them down to $200 and try to sell three individually for people looking for a spare :meh:

You could just buy one but at $450 for eight wheels you might as well just have spares, lol. You could always build a trailer :D

Mark, thats what I did, purchased 2 sets, added the spare and two trailer tires. this summer the extra one will get used as a second spare for my Arctic Ocean trip

Yeah I plan to paint them like @GXLee did.

And I measured them today compared to the stock Lexus ones and they have about a 5” back spacing while the Lexus wheels have a 5.5” backspace so it will move the tires out about a half an inch.

@Scat Adams I picked up a pair of those 3” rubber plumbing caps

I think those wheels look really good in a gunmetal gray

I’m looking for a single 4runner wheel as well. You wouldn’t happen to be in NC? Haha
