Hey Coops! All you need to do is pull the two center console pieces, then remove the two lower dash panel pieces to expose the bottom of the wood panels where the vents are. Once those two vent panels are off, it will expose the bolts to remove the radio.

Thanks. Might try to get it in before heading to Ouray on Weds

See you there!

I'll be looking for both of you guys!

Ill be at the MT4x4 booth.

Please someone take LOTS of bumper pictures both HeftyFab and Metal Tech. I am needing a bumper badly and cant decide which to go with. I have even considered driving up just to see then, likely not going to happen.

Did the Late Model switch mod and added a factory style switch for my aux lights. Very Happy with it. Also saw that only one of the original switches were lighting up in that cluster. Fixed all of them and the diff lock switch light. The contacts on the bulbs must not have been touching. I just bent them out with a tiny screwdriver and they are good to go.

What is the late model switch mod? My '05 doesn't have a spare space for a button like yours, does the mod free up space? Looks great.

Hey, Mine is an 05 also. The switch panel that I picked up is from an 07. Once they started putting at the AUX port in for the radio, they moved the center diff lock switch to the side. Since we have the diff switch in the center, it gives us a free slot. I picked up the whole assembly on eBay for about $55. The light switch is also from eBay. Just look for FJ Cruiser factory style fog light switch. I think it was $13. Came from China.

Good to know

Finally got my tie rod assemblies installed. Also tried to lift the front Fox 2.5's only to find out that it's a nightmare. The 2.5" bodies/collars leave no room in the shock towers for the wrench to fit and the remote reservoir hose/fittings are in the way too. I couldn't figure out why someone jacked all the holes in the collars up but now I know. It is not too bad until you get to where the lock bolt is as there is no way for the wrench to fit the next hole as it is too far from the last (if that makes any sense). Looks like I will be stink-bugging it for a while now.

Changed my oil and discovered a torn CV boot on the driver's side. Would not be a big deal if had time to fix it before I leave on a two week road with my wife and four kids towing a pop-up camper to Maine from Iowa. Better it happened now then on the road though.

Since I was in a pinch on time, had to use local re-man unit as no toyota parts in stock at stealership. Speaking of which the guy at my local Toyota parts did not know anything. He quoted me $488 just for the part and would not order unless I got a Lexus dealership to confirm the 2007 FJ used the same axle. I think he was sellling me more than just the axle as looks like most places regular price closer to $250 and discount dealers around $175 for OEM. I ended up with a $65 re-man unit from O'Reilly I will replace with OEM when the time comes. Other side has a little grease coming out too so ordered a set of clamps for both CVs.
