Installed some 895E rear springs, time to raise the front once they settle a little.

I have 8.5 methods.

installed a chinese android headunit. so far everything works just fine except i have no sound. only way i get sound is crank the gx up and i get sound for about 5 seconds then it turns off.

@dogbite again, measured my spare and it is a 9" wide wheel! I guess I better be careful not to air down too much, good thing I just cruise to the mall, work, and sometimes a dirt road here and there!

Fixed my issue made my own harness from radio to dash harness and all works well. My guess is the harness that comes with the unit was wired wrong

I instated the front piece, engine and transmission RCI skid plates. Waiting to do the transfer case and fuel tank when we do the lift,

Still waiting on Shocks ordered from Metaltech and a SSO rear bumper. Told today the bumper should be here next Tuesday

I did a trail probably 1 step up above the stock GX capabilities but thanks to years of experience prevailed with just some minor plastic scuffs. And the passenger steps are not pretty anymore! But they are being replaced by OPOR sliders just didn't get them ordered in time for this trip.

Will post photos of the carnage tomorrow since it is late. BTW the trail was Stage Coach trail in Jacumba, CA. Not much info on it and learned some important info that I will post up and share in some online threads.

A little late adding photos but here is the link.

Took off my running boards and put a shovel holder on my OEM rack.

I will post pictures and detailing side step removal eventually to assist others here. Removal is not difficult but can be tricky to avoid clip breakage if the intent is to put back on or cap the front fender.

Kinda lame I know, but put some duct tape over the holes where the running boards went until I can figure out something more permanent.

They make an epoxy body filler. I used it on my fenders when I pulled off all the plastic trim. Would work here as well. Better than bondo as it is hydrophobic. Could also use JB weld or even some silicon (I have sliders and bed liner there so it wouldnt even show :P

Did the same, with duct tape while I cut the steps. Will use the top of the removed step from front to back, not just a cap on the fender, and re-snap into place. Taking pictures and will do a write up soon.

BTW, what mud flap did you use. I need to do that too.

Good idea on the epoxy body filler. I may end up going that route.

I wish I had kept the top 1" of my steps to snap back in place, unfortunately I was too giddy and trashed them.

I used a circle puncher for arts/crafts, some auto grade vinyl, and punched out perfect circles that were body matched to cover up the holes on my 80. Worked pretty well and looked decent. I may do the same with the GX. I already used a can of Fluid Film in the rockers to help fight corrosion. I wish my truck came with the running boards, my attempts to find some used ones have been futile as everyone wants $500 for a pair or more.
