Rusty tank/line woes???
Recently installed new (manual) fuel pump but still not getting gas to carb....put a gallon behind fuel pump and she pumped fine.
Figured must be in line or tank....blew out line and gas flushed out the back so I then thought ok....must be in tank. Started to drain gas (found a speck or two of rust) and then realized I only had roughly 2.5 gallons in the tank ( I would've swore more gas was in there and the rig is fairly level right now).
So I wonder fellow knights should I go ahead and pull the tank? I have not checked at the entry point of the tank (boy that's a hard place to get to!) or put more gas in the tank as the entry point(by entry point I mean the fittings connecting the gas tank to the fuel line) feeding the fuel lines to the front of rig is at the top of this tank....surely 2.5 gallons would feed/be pulled to the carb?
I'm guessing pull the tank...TIA for your advice, Dave
