I am going to finally get back to work on my 76. I purchased the new tail gate rubber forever ago and finally rebuilt with the new gear the rear window regulator. My question is how many times and how difficult is it to install the rear window gasket. I feel guilty putting on a brand new part that I know I will need to remove down the road. Is this an install it once and buy new again the next time I put it in?

Why are you going to need to remove it?

At some point in next three years I am going to sandblast fix the body issues and repaint it. There is currently no gasket at all on the window.

Will the window be ok driving with no rubber at all? There was nothing left in the tail gate uppers.

I would think the window would rattle too much without any type of gasket, not to mention leak. Maybe put it in with as little (glue)?, so it can be removed easy enough later.

Cool! I’ve heard people comment that the chrome finish was not that great, so why not satin black! Looks awesome.

Finished priming all the blasted stuff. Thus goes right on my list of don’t want to do it again. And it’s the easy body work process!!!
