Hey John, good to see there are others besides me that enjoy some tunes while working on our rigs!

After lots of head scratching and research fixed the cyl 1 misfire. Went ahead and replaced all 3 on the passenger side because I found some OEM's on the web for $45 ea. Only 1 hour of my morning.

Was this considered bank one or bank two? My engine light comes on and code is for bank one. Appears to be much easier to change than my 87 Pathfinder which was a pain in the a$$.

Pretty sure this is bank one. After having this all apart for the top end/valve cover reseal this was a breeze as only half the intake had to come off. I would have replaced all 6, but at $45 ea, and the extra work, I figured I'd give this a try since my diagnostic reader clearly nailed cylinder #1.

Pretty sure your right, cylinder one being bank one. Message me where you found the injectors online. Probably pick up three and do them when were back in the valley. Poor thing is sitting in the garage with dead battery. My 89 is running a 5/11 battery that has gone dead from lack of use. Charge it and it's fine. Two summers of sitting in a garage in the valley heat and a battery done.

Sent, double check the Year/application if these are for the '89 though.

I’ve been chasing a gas smell again the last few trips, suspecting the issue was the lines being old I removed them. Then I removed the GM canister I swapped in a few years back and I discovered the issue, a separated canister.

I pulled an original, known to be working a few years back, charcoal canister and swapped it in. Hoping this does the trick and I don’t get excessive fuel pressure.

Time will tell.

Well my wash on the FJ62 was short lived. With the drought the Bark Beetles have returned to the area. Removed a couple of small dead pine trees that I would not think had been attacked by Bark Beetle and starting thinning more of the small pines tree in hopes of keeping the big one healthier. Hooked up the M101A1 and hauled a couple of load to the slash pit to be burned, with more to followed. The slash pit is like the local coffee shop where you run into your neighbors. It is a busy place. One side dumping while the Forest Service is burning the other side.

I'm pretty sure they all come "seperated" Steve. Maybe check the upstream VSV (vacuum switching valve). It can go bad and mimic a bad charcoal canister.

Swapped AC Delco out and gas smell has been mostly removed. I’m also swapping out the lines as they may have cracked when forced to fit over the slightly larger ports. The VSV checks out ok but I will keep the suggestion in mind. Thanks for the suggestion Eric.

Replace your fuel cap gasket too. Mine was very smelly after replacing the canister. So far, no more fumes with the new cap gasket.

keep that PAIR for someone who might need/want it - or sell it to me
Shoot me an offer it is just sitting on my work bench

4x4Labs on my GX. Tomorrow to exhaust shop. Had to cut the original exhaust off right before the resonator to fit the bumper and have been driving around with a horrible squeak for the last couple days.

Switched the lights on the bull bar to some old school fog lights I had in aa bo of old aftermarket lights I have. SAE-F-82. So period correct and at least halogen. Some of the lights in the box aren't even halogen. Not sure I like them or not. Since nothing is wired easy to switch back.

Anybody have a fog light switch for a FJ62.

My problem is the blanks I have are all vertical in the FJ62. Believe I have some FJ62 switch that would work until I can locate the right one. Need to find my 12 volt relays so the load isn't on the factory wiring.

Are they halogen lamps? I actually have a couple of different sets of clear halogen lights. One set is working the other is not. If I end up buying some from KC would want something higher tech. I do have four or six old school KC Day Lighters I plan to run a set or two on a FJ40. Just don't have any covers for them. Maybe some day I get to Williams and visit them. Worked for Pepsi ba k in the mid seventies and KC was one of my stops in Williams. Read they moved back a few years ago.
