Yeah the 2.8 diesel does about 75mph with stock 4.3 gears. It's not bad.

Freeway is 60 here. I run the Datsun 60-65 most days. And it's only about 10-12 miles of freeway

Let me guess, a low miles 240z. Of course a nice 280z fair lady would be nice too.
My datsun? I wouldn't daily a Z car here

It's just a little 620

Finished another Olympic National Park excursion today. The mighty LN106 hilux easily conquered some 20 miles of very wet winter forest roads. Not much snow up there, even at 4,000ft.

Today I also did the third oil change since engine rebuild, at 3,200km. Amazing how quickly the 3L engine can destroy a gallon of Amsoil! About 5.5 quarts came out and it took 6 quarts of fresh 10w30.

Noticed my fan clutch whining a bit on and off. Think it's on the way out. I'll order another one.

Uuhhhh. So my radiator fan is fine. The face plate for my A/C clutch vibrated the bolt loose and fell off.

That explains the whining noise.. brave little spring clip kept the rest of the pulley on all the way home. Miraculously the front piece of the clutch flew forward and was caught in between the steering box and washer reservoir.

That's what I get for flying over potholes in third gear all afternoon.

On my way to grab a bolt and some loctite.

Really nice Hilux. I spotted a one at a dealer just north of Seattle with low miles. The dealer wanted some big money but the truck was in great shape. It sold before I could get some questions asked.

Pretty truck. I looked at it last summer. Worth the asking price. SSRX trim like my blue one.

A lot of the JDM importers look for a quick turnaround, with these 90s diesel trucks they need a fair amount of maintenance before they are reliable daily drivers. So keep that in mind. Low mileage is great (anything under 200k miles on a 3L is nothing). But some parts still fail with age. Timing belt should be done immediately. I don't even drive them until I do a timing belt.

Once you give it some love, good to go for a few decades.

Haha, yep, that’s the one. $1 per mile. I will keep the maintenance in mind. That front bumper is hideous IMO and would have to go.

Is there a part number associated with the double box end one? I could use one of these!
No part number on that one. I believe Kyoto Tool Company is who makes them for Toyota or at least very similar style wrench without the branding.

Amayama sells the sensor on the bottom of that fuel filter Should you ever need a replacement Mine had only an in-line plastic fuel filter so I ordered the complete firewall mounted housing, filter and sensor…nice to see it back to normal
