Finished up @beno rear.

Started on my 70 front prototype. Once I get some more measurements I'll trim the lower end to be about 1/2" below the frame rail.

I took the Ute on ~1000 km drive about in idaho's version of the outback. It performed flawlessly. It's an all around great vehicle but the 2H comes into its own in the back country...[yATTACH=full]1112208[/ATTACH]

I know you felt more adventurous knowing you had that super bright dome light at your disposal. :)
Did your camera crap out after that one photograph?

The light is awesome and came in handy unloading the cab after dark.
The camera didn't crap out but the level of expertise of the photographer leaves a lot to be desired...

New OEM soft tops are indeed available.

Thanks to David Stedman at Japan4x4. Always a great source for non-US PARTS.

Comes with the small corner garnish and the two rods for the fold up sides. Awesome.

Beautiful product. Not cheap but worth it if you intend to keep a soft top going for many years.

Took a slight detour on the way to a meeting in the inland empire this morning and ended up on the top of a mountain...and late to the meeting.

As seen on the way up Indian Truck Trail (part of Cleveland National Forest)

At this point I was seriously considering skipping the meeting.

Man, this truck is fun!

Bled the new early 80 series braking system I installed over the weekend. Sadly I can't do a test drive because the guys at the machine shop have not come through with the pedal push rod extension yet.

Is it all discs?

That's awesome Fieball! I still haven't fabricated some new "guts" to hold the gauges I want. I hope to get our school's laser cutter set up to do faceplates.

Divemedic: I still have rear drums but bigger calipers and pads, master's larger diameter and the booster is larger with dual diaphragms.

I was very happy to find that the new "Centrics" wheel cylinders I bought from Rock Auto were OEM's. Aisin was stamped on them but the Toyota logo had been crudely removed with a grinder.

.

Actually, the far left gauge is a pyro. VDO has some somewhat unique numbering on the face ;)

Thanks for the tip. I contacted David and he was able to get me a new OEM soft top as well when no one else could (not OEM anyways).

It was NOT cheap though.

I've pretty much stopped worrying about what something costs. It just makes no sense to try to do a CBA on a hobby or a lifestyle.

:meh:

Sam is correct, far left is the Pyro. I went with the VDO gauges because I wanted something relatively inexpensive and a boost gauge that had an appropriate range, i.e. 0-15psi.

Still waiting on final price from the guy who did it, then will share details if all goes well. He originally laid them up flat which looked a little cleaner but I really wanted them angled towards me. He said he has some trouble getting the angled rings integrated, but it looks good now.

Now I need to block out some time to do all the wiring!
