My best friend (pictured) and I upgraded the batteries, rewired the cables, improved the terminals and lugs, replaced the alternator with a new OEM one, and replaced the alternator belts and the a/c belt. Successful day!

I installed a new clutch booster which took me far to long to find the right one and then it ended up that the rod length was to short on it, no way was I putting that old junk back on - after a day of thinking about it I managed to find a good permanent fix with a thread extension and a cut off bolt to the proper length giving me the extra I needed to make it work. I also installed a new clutch master at the same time as my old one was weeping, possibly what ruined the booster. I then used the special tool for gauging booster to master distance and got my pedal set just right. Overall I am very happy with how the repair ended up. I had lived with no booster and it making weird squeaking noises for quite some time. It’s amazing how effortless the pedal feels now almost like it’s over boosted, makes me wonder how long my booster was on its way out.

When I was completing this job I decided to have my hood linex’d and then coated in black urathane, turned out beautiful and the hood closes like a bank vault now.

Well I’ve owned the old girl for 20 years now and with the help of the forum and various vendors from around the world I hope its life still has many years of reliable service left.

Will post up some picture tonight.

Enjoy your day boys!

Where did you source the clutch booster.? As far as I know, he OEMs are NLA. Good to know there is something available that can be made working. Would be even better to know what exactly 😅 Manufacturer, Model or part number would be highly appreciated .
cheers Ralf

I got my booster from the only place I could find one cruiserparts.net should have been 31440-60040 but i am not sure it was and I paid for it believe me. He wants mine back as a core, so perhaps once it’s redone it will be the right length lol. I was very close to buying a Chinese one off eBay, but I wasn’t confident on the shaft length being the same as mine. nice to have Japanese parts on the truck anyway. If you happen to get one like mine and the shaft length is short you just buy thread extensions like these, cut a bolt to fit in one end and voila your rod length just increased an inch or more. Thankfully it was exactly what I required.

Yesterday I first got the Cruiser dusty on some sand tracks in The Netherlands, just across the border en route to visit some friends.

There was a festival celebrating the 10th anniversary of the local amateur's band & musicians initiative, we helped organize.

It was very nice weather and more audience attended than expected. Great success 😀
We eventually ran out of wine and sparkling water. So I went to the only supermarket open at late hours and emptied its stock of dry white wine.

(No, this is not my normal quantity to pack for a weekend trip)
Cheers Ralf

Ummm @cruiserdan, did you by chance do anything to your 70 Series recently? Perhaps your glovebox?

Couldn’t get Moritsu-san to sign?

Dan was in his Mow-Paaaar when we went on our Moritsu-san field trip. We should have had him sign the hood :D

Removed the transmission to replace the clutch on my ‘94 KZJ78.

While I had it out I decided to tackle my weeping front and rear output seals to find that the rear shaft had a bit of vertical movement. Rebuild kit in bound for that. But in the mean time, both companion flanges have scarring from the seals. The front (3330960051) looks to be NLA.

Could a rear flange (3330960060) be utilized with swapping the dust cover?

They measure out the same with the my calipers.
