First off, well done with both of the 73/74's. Second and issues driving around with the top off and the backdoors still on? I ask because I am not enjoying my backup tire carrier plan and kind of miss having the doors there.

There is a bunch of parts in the back of that one coming up to halfway the rear glass . Those are removable top doors but since it’s loaded to the gills I didn’t remove them .

About 2000 miles on this trip , in a few weeks I will be picking up a HDJ80 in Seattle and that’s nearly 5000 miles round trip including some sight seeing and visiting friends . You should come over and join me as I plan to stop at the cruiser museum

i do that drive a couple times a year,,, its feels longer than it is.

if i knew you were the one who bought them i'd have met ya the sellers house and grabbed my tool door from you, and also bought a couple of the parts in the back of that blue one i want, unless they are all spoken for already.

p.s. i have the column trim rubber from the white one, if you want it i'll drop it in the mail, but it is torn.

You know right before I left I was printing out your shipping label and was wondering why Payson AZ sounded familiar. Of course I linked it to slow as I would have loved to meet up . I will be sorting everything out soon and see what I need or not . Send me a pm with what you want please .

More rope training with the lads in preparation for our early August expedition. I WOULD have pictures from our last training, only I accidentally did THIS to that phone:

Bent the whole dang thing - $750 mistake... sigh.

On with the show... this trip out I let the lads gear up, setup everything and I was only there to answer questions, and be safety officer/check everything when they felt ready to go. One lad going over the edge, and one belaying. They took turns in each station for 3 hours.

We worked on a 20ft cliff so they spent more time clipping in, rope work, changing stations and so it did not take them 30mins to get back to where we were setup and working. 200yards further over we could be using a 75ft cliff, but then they would have had a long walk to get back up. Nice thing is, this is all 10mins from my house.

Looks like I may have a little transmission work in my future.

Downshift from 4 to 3 is no bueno.....syncro appears very unhappy and bad noises happen

Shifting up from 2 to 3 is fine.

As their father, I am grateful to be able to spend this kind of time training my boys to do some adventurous activities, creating memories and bonds amongst all of us that will last a lifetime. Too many of my sons peers have no relationship with their fathers or do anything with them, spending all their time on computers, phones, and down at 7-eleven doing who knows what.

It is rewarding to see their confidence building, and be able to take a step back and take pictures while watching them put into practice what they have learned. Only 3 weeks today we will be traversing 6kms of caving system!

Actually I got $300 off a Samsung s22 (last years) which DOES have 5G, but I disabled it. I really liked my 5yr old s9+, and was happy to continue using it for another 5yrs. I just need to be more careful with my stuff.

The toughest smartphone I had was a Motorola defy, but I managed to wreck that one too. I found it a little too small for my phat thumbs tho.

This phone I am hoping will last me a long, long time. I immediately bought a "military grade" phone case for it. I will likely destroy this too...
