@FJ73Texas ! I need to do this job, if you don't mind, where did you get replacement seals and how hard of a job is it?

Thanks

I got them all from partsouq last year sometime. You are supposed to order and use 4 of the 61783-60020 seals for left rear and right rear flares but they don't seem to be available anymore.

When you order the 53851-90K00-01 seals for the front flares which you will need 2 of......just order 4 extra for the rear flares. It is the same type of seal...just longer so you will have to trim it back. Easy to do.

It wasn't that hard to do. The trickiest part is getting the seal on the flare, especially around the corners. Use some fine sandpaper to clean up the surface of the flare edge so the adhesive in the seal will stick properly.

Also when you put the flare back on...make sure the rubber seal sits flush with the body. If you have issues there...you can use a flexible thin plastic to gently push out the rubber along the outer edges (by pushing from the backside.) before you tighten it all down. The new rubber tends to be kinda stiff so it needs some guidance to sit flush properly.

You also need to order 8 of the 61785-60020 seals for the flares...it is a smaller seal that sits on the smaller sides but I can't find it anywhere so I just used the extra pieces I trimmed from 61783-60020.

Order new hardware (M6X1.0) bolts before putting the flares back on. Replace any factory rivets that may be there. 90119-06278. You may need to tap any of the mounts where rivets used to be before.

Hope that helps.

I realize these aren't OEM and not 70-series specific, but I used these on our 80 series flares and they worked well. Think they'd work on the 7* flare as well?

Based on the shape I am seeing...I would say no.

My truck was not original built with a/c which was a non-starter once it ended up in Southwest Georgia. Factory a/c has since been added and Summer has arrived with a vengeance in the Deep South. I’m pleased with the results. The vent temps dropped rapidly and settled in between 48 & 50 degrees (F) with outside temps in the 90’s. Based on what I’ve read the vent temps seem fairly normal.

Deleting the plastic fog light buckets from my Ironman bumper. Relocating the Noco block heater plug. Also still working on version 4/5 of the exhaust lol

Well, 1 folding wiper arm arrived! LOL! The other is on its way from UAE. Purchased from Megazip. They are cool, I’ve realized that the wiper has to be lifted prior to unscrewing to release tension. Then when it’s unscrewed and folded and the tension of the spring keeps it against the glass so it won’t rattle. The other arrives next week.
🥳. LHD Detachable Wiper Arms for fold down
windshield.

Both attached. The LH side arm ( drivers on LHD ) is shorter in length. Here is pic of both and part numbers. The extra part number is for the little plastic caps that cover the wiper attachment nut.

I’ve always wanted to install these on my Ute just for fun, and who knows some day I might move somewhere warm and drop the windshield for fun 😉

I lived in Whitehorse for years. Its warm enough up there, not for long though. J

I finished up the flare re-install and put back the lower quarter aftermarket cladding. Looks pretty good. Not sure if I can use the aftermarket cladding with the kaymar when I get to that point but I will find out. The flare section shown in the photos ( closest to the rear) is the one I painted with rattle can Toyota 045 and 2K clearcoat and also a lot of wet sanding/polishing in between stages. It matched up pretty well but not perfect. I don't care as I doubt most will be able to tell.

I wanted to drive the cruiser tomorrow and decided to hold off on the kaymar re-install a bit longer so the other aftermarket bumper went back on which only took about 30 mins. Super easy. The kaymar requires an friend to come over and help me, in my opinion. "Safety first".

One nice feature about this aftermarket bumper is it lines up with the plastic OEM trim.

I guess I should go back to a "build" thread since I am posting updates and photos more often....

Last week we packed up the Troopy and the Alpacka Rafts and floated the San Juan River from Sand Island to Mexican Hat. I love these boats. You fill them with your camping stuff and they're very lightweight. No need for a big trailer and a drift boat when the CFS is so low...

Trying to take advantage of the warm, dry weather to make some headway on the interior of the troopy. Just finished hosing it out for the 3rd time along with even more Australian dust.
Almost ready to throw the floor and seats back in and then take it for a trip
