In this case, yes. These are the only types I had on hand right now.

I will probably use another style with the final product. Not sure what kind but open to suggestions.

I would use 6mm Nutserts and screws. Much more secure for metal panels such as those.

The final product will not be of the metal type pictured (too heavy). Love the nutsert idea.

Did you create anything to replace the jack cover, or just reuse the factory piece? They do look nice.
If not aluminum what will the final product be made of?

I forgot to put the jack cover back on before taking a pic but I will be re-using it.

The pictured panels are made of steel and too heavy for my taste...but again they are just prototypes for fitting. Jason suggested aluminum and I love that idea.

I made mine out of aluminum and used 1/4-20 nutserts and allen cap screws for all connections. Did it all at home with a little jig saw and drill. Your CNC'ed product will definitely be nicer, but it got the job done.

I definitely feel your pain about getting all the mounting holes to line up...

After discovering an intake manifold leak as the cause of my inability to shut the engine down with the key, I re-/over torqued the bolts and nuts. Unfortunately, the issue remains. Will need to tear it down and put a new gasket on:bang:

If you make some for the 73/74 also think about the fact that there is a difference between the right rear side panel depending on year , oem does not exist anymore for years so these would have a bunch of potential buyers.

You are right, if I had a set of 73/74 side panels drawn up in CAD then there is the potentional for SWB or MWB set because the rest (front doors and back door) will work in either.

Technically my side panels are for the JDM 70 LX model though. I see some SWB 70 models without the added plastic panels. Not sure what to call them.

I have a nice set here at the shop for HZJ73’s that I use as templates , you can use them as long as I can get em back.

Ok. That is not a problem. Can draw them up for you.

Yours look really good and yes the holes is the tricky part of making the panels for sure.

Drove 'shuttle' for our weekly Wed. Night Mtb Ride.

While not exactly 70 Series Tech, I did finally get around to powering up the HAM and CB radios that have been resting comfortably in the overhead console.
