I saw this about two weeks ago (just in time for a Summer) and assumed the worse.

I throughly cleaned the goo (oil and freon) and after two weeks it hasn't returned. (The sound of me knocking on wood).

Hit 140 km/hr (~87 mph) on the freeway coming back from camping...on a downhill of course, but the 14BT moves the BJ along really well. Not sure what rpms I was turning, really need to get a tach.

P.S. my ac = windows down! wish I had your problem^

Drove around on some seriously crap gravel/dirt roads today for hours helping a friend get some video for his reel. The massive pothole and washboard covered roads were SUPER annoying....but in my mind the whole time I was comforted by the fact that the troopy was built for that kind of $H!+ and of course the OME components were doing there thing well. The truck got shaken, bounced, rattled, banged around and then asked to climb some pretty steep hills on top of that for hours and never complained. What an awesome machine.

Got home from the desert and the wife and beasts were feeling a road trip up the mountains. The BJ74 works the best for the hounds, easy access and the slide windows are a crowd favorite. The only downside was discovered this afternoon when we got back into the valley, no AC, specifically no blower at all. Boo. I got home and pulled the blower motor, with a little coaxing I could get it to fire up. It needed love. I pulled the motor apart cleaned up the face of the armature and brushes, removed a layer of dust and grime and cleaned and lubed the end broze bushings.

The most time consuming part was cleaning the fan blade itself, it was caked with 25 years of dust and likely cigar smoke. Reassembled, sealed the motor and she is running faster than ever!
