That car dealership must be located in Transylvania, since they put that Frankencruiser in their front
window !

Oh dear. :bang:

anyone else scared of how the frame was sectioned?

Oh boy

That's SAD

is it red or maroon?

Wow what an abortion. Why are looking to get $17k for the pig. They should have their service dept look that truck over.

WTMF!?? This is insulting to the entire Land Cruiser race. Looks to be a 40 grafted into a 45 cab with a 70s hilux bed...why doesn't the seller mention this anywhere? "THESE PICKUPS ARE BECOMING MORE RARE BY THE DAY"...huh? Maybe I'll call the guy and ask him a few questions. Nothing wrong with frankenstein projects...but at least be honest about it.

that frame graft is scarry looking, doesn't even line up.. and it looks like a shortened fj40 cab and top.. amazing that they painted the outside but left the rear axle rusty.. interesting to do all that work and to a fj40 when they could have restored a fj45 alot easier..

Sold

Okay it has been SOLD, I hope it's going to another planet, that just hurts looking at it. :steer:

I envision a newb posting shortly about their recently purchased really cool "one of a kind" 45. :hillbilly:

It will be very difficult to keep from unleashing the wave of dismay which will come their way from Mud.

I don't mean to be rude about someone's dream that went kind of wrong, so if that person does enlist this truck into the world of Mudd, and asks for a bit of direction in fixing it up, it would be a challenge but that's what we do, help each other. :wrench:

I couldn't resist.....WOW

Nice truck if you were looking for a Ford courier/FJ40 Hybrid sorta kinda thing. How about an FJcourier........or Ford40....

Wrong

So someone cut the back off an early FJ40, spliced a rear section of the lift top door of a 40, and glued on a early Ford Courier bed with some possible frame modifications, then listed it as a FJ pick up, Rare. No reference to FJ45, Nice play on words, stays away from saying FJ40 modified to be a pick up. Well as far as I am concerned the dealer (seller) is selling this vehicle under false pretenses (false advertising). Most all car dealers in the states are required to list any major changes to a cassis or body. The vin will show it as a FJ40 not a FJ pick up if that vin was not changed. Without going on with more legalities', the new owner can and should take it back and get a $17,000 refund or sue if they believed they were getting a real FJ45. This was a good catch to post on Mudd as far as I am concerned, to help NEW folks who are new to Land cruisers to help see what is real and what is not. BE carful and stay away form fly-by-night dealers, buy from Mudd owners. I'm not sure if it did sell, anyone know?
That's my 23 cents worth

not a 45 cab. that's a shortened 40. look at the fuel filler. a 45 cab would have a normal recessed fuel filler. probably why the frame graft was required. also the vin is FJ4034105. it's an early 65 fj40

anyone notice the tlca sticker in the rear.

whoever built it did a nice job grafting the toyota into the ford gate and it is a nice paint job (don't like the color tho).

keep in mind, this may have been built decades ago. things were different then. we've evolved.

but for 17k, i would expect both wiper arms/blade/motors and at least some sprya paint on the underside so it doesnt' look like ....

sweet turn signals

Isn't that what I said? Sorry...lemme re-word it a bit "Looks to be a 40 grafted into something made to look like a 45 cab with a 70s hilux bed" is that better?
