Did anyone else notice this ad says: "...it cruises 85 mph all day"? I cannot imagine cruising around in my '78 FJ40 at 85 mph.

:lol: My '80 might go 85 mph if I drove it off a tall cliff. Though I did just discover today while cleaning the carb that my throttle plate was not opening all the way with the pedal to the floor, so maybe now that I adjusted it, it will do better than the 65 or 70 I've had it up to for short stretches.

I was going to swap my OEM rims for black steel,but after looking at all the stock tlc i have changed my mind.Thanks for saving me some money . Well not really saving , but what can i buy now instead .:hhmm: ... Oh BTW, stock does look better.:cheers:

:lol::lol::lol:

For the record, I am in favor of the old school look. Toyota got it right. My '70 model had the riveted rims. I unloaded them, and found a set of old school welded disc style rims. I grabbed a set of OEM caps from Ralph Hayes Toyota. I have not had a chance to get it all pulled together yet. This thread gets my heart beating faster. This weekend, I'll bolt 'em on and get a picture and post it up here.

Old School is the way to go!

:clap:

Beautiful work on your 40. The OEM rims look great. As to the rear flare, I decided to paint mine body color, as I couldn't afford to repair/replace the fender wells. Here is a quick job of coloring the flares for you and a shot of Cadet with the painted flares.

Cheers.
Greg

More pictures of the 2nd one anywhere? I love it.
