OCD,

yeah thats my baby, I may have not posted these in my thread. I am about to get the rims painted in gloss black to match my accents and then the rings chromed

I need more memory in my camera then I'll post a close up. The rings aren't chrome, they are stainless steel. The rims aren't split rims, they are standard 15 inch by 5.5" Toyota. But the GM beauty rings fit perfectly.

"Great looking rig ! Where did you buy your top ? "

Not sure if you are referring to mine, but if so, I got it at SOR about 2003 or so and it stayed in the box until I finished the rebuild. I hear now they don't stock that top anymore but call them to find out for sure. They also had the matching spare tire cover. It's a real PITA to remove and put back up and the bows pretty much stay in place but I like the way the side curtains roll up.

What the heck, been wanting to add mine to this thread. One of my favorites. My 77 on old steelies:

I love my stock 16x5.5 steelies probably the only dude in oz that does as over here they get binned regulary.:steer:

toms42, I'm with you on that. Here in RSA we also use the 16"x5.5 splits, not the 15" size like in the USA, allows a 7.50/16 tyre to be used. My '77 40 is from Australia [Victoria] and the 1st thing I did was get rid of the non stock rims and fit stock splits which I had spare. I have since tracked down the original splits [PO had them in his garage!!!] and they are now en route from Australia to RSA - anal about originality

bucfan, stock looks the business - you made the right choice IMO

Since the above pic was taken I have fitted these Dunlop Universal 7.50/16's which are a bit more agressive looking, and an improvement in looks IMO
