Center diff? What is this magic of which you speak? 😁 😳

Looks like FUN!

That trail was really washed out on the east side when I was out there earlier this fall.

Just an FYI.... I have January 20th marked off to play in the snow. Thinking flat head pass area or maybe some Gallatin Gateway dirt roads. I have a couple of guys committed to playing in the snow with me.

Willing to let a couple of strays tag along?
I don't care. I'll post details of meetup as the time gets closer. Just treat it like a trail ride where you bring some recovery gear.

Count me in. I’ll make sure to throw in the tire chains.

<scratch this>So, I am thinking Axtell Aneney road, to Norris, then maybe work over to Axlotl (however it is spelled) lake, then to Ennis. Stealing some of Matt's drive from a couple years ago. Any other suggestions? Anyone know if Axtell has a gate? </scratch this>

I did some research.... seems flathead pass might be a pretty good place to explore. If people want to sled with their kids for a bit that is an option, if we want to drive more that is an option, and I think there should be some good snow cover up there. Any thoughts? We could meet at the Sinclair station on Bridger in case people need gas...

There's the Maudliw to Ringling route in the area as well.
Good point. I need to sit down and play with some GPS routes.....

when you say a couple of "guys" are you referring to Joops

i put play in the snow on my calendar now also. the LX should be in a condition that i can go get stuck in the snow. hopefully we get more snow and hopefully its not miserable cold.

i have a couple routes i can suggest but i haven't been to maudlow in years so that sounds intriguing. drift busting on back country roads is always a blast.

Maudlow to ringling is a fun route, especially east of the tiny national forest corner, canyon section.
We have ski school on Saturdays so hate to miss this but post some pix!

For Flathead, are you thinking from this side of the valley over or start on the backside (Bridger) side of things?

back side of flathead has always been a fun time when you get a decent amount of snow. I have been out there many times. At one point the FJC was the only one not stuck out of ten rigs IRRC. i was in the middle of the pack and i had to do some fun yanks to get the people behind me and ahead of me free

it was -8 out that day FEB 2019!

The guy with the Brute (semi-jeep....) and my friend's son who as a Frankenrunner. (2nd gen/3rd gen combo.). He has been on a couple of other club runs.

I am open to suggestions. I want to be walking through my door at home @ 4. I have an evening commitment. The temp is supposed to be in the 30s. Heck.... anything above 0 at this point is Hawaiian shirt weather.

Maudlow to Ringling may be out with that time constraints. Unless it's an early start and no issues. It's a haul just to come back around. Flathead might be a better candidate especially if you can make it over. You'll already be on the right side of the range.

im not trying to be out in the dark either. but its always a toss up when snow wheelin. i would stick to the back of the pack and dont get stuck i guess. do we have a meetup location at least? i have a couple freinds interested in attending but cant tell em when or where were going. kind of a turn off

I thinking 4 Corners Exxon 9:30 AM. Norris road, right on River Road, and then climb some hills in Gallatin Gateway. If all goes well we might be able to head over to Ennis if time. No telling what is open, how deep the snow is, or the like, however, we can work over to Norris road to work our way over to Ennis with some back roads or go home if the road takes longer than expected.

We could run around Flathead pass, but we are going to have to head out to Bridger Canyon to get back home. I'm game for that as well, but it might impact how much snow time we get.

Any thoughts on that? Exxon 4 Corners 9:30? I know last time we decided to head out to Revenue flats as the best option. So make sure you have someone's number if you are running late and want to meet up at a different point.
