So I bought a new rear hatch weatherstrip gasket from City Racer. I’m trying to mount it to the hatch but both of the adhesives I’ve tried don’t really stick that well to the gasket. After it drys it basically peels right of with very little effort.

Any other suggestions to get this thing stick to the hatch reliably? Gorilla glue ???? 🐵

You'll find a few old threads - I used OEM weatherstrip (and 08008 glue). The City Racer weatherstrip is a different material, and think it needs 8011 instead.

MUST USE 3M Super black 08008 on OEM WEATHERSTRIP

MUST USE 3M Black 8011 or cyanoacrylate on City Racer EPDM WEATHERSTRIP

That 3M will work great.
Small amount smoothed on both pieces.
Let dry for 6-7 mins, then one more very fine bead of adhesive to one of the pieces, then stick both pieces together.
Hold for about a minute and done.

I just installed City Racer's door weather strip with Bob Smiths IC-2000 and seemed to work fine. They also sell a spray activator.

Fwiw, they also call out the glue in their FAQ - I believe the 08008 in the original post in the Super Black they mention, which is incompatible with their EPDM:

This stuff is the bomb! I've used it several times and I will never go back to the 3M stuff again. One bottle of glue will do two doors. One activator will do all four doors.
