Wasn't this MUD upgrade supposed to increase speed ? (1 Viewer)

well, everything is either slower than before or just as damn slow :frown:

I don't need highschool-age features for handing out pats-on-backs or flower bouquets

is there a way I can inactivate this newfangled stuff and continue to live my luddite life

Since neither my browser nor my provider have changed, I don't quite see how this could be relevant to the question of speed of MUD before and after the upgrade

Because IMO (and a few other user's opinions) the speed of mud browsing has improved albeit slightly. The complexity of the pages has, however, increased. Using a poor browser (or poorly setup browser) or a low bandwidth connection may aggravate a problem that was causing mud to seem slow for you in the first place.

There are often some tweaks you can apply to enhance your experience. :meh:

REAL fast for me....even on my broadband card....

there are MANY things you can turn off in your User CP, including avatars, attachments, etc....

and where was it said that the new version would be faster?!?

Works good for me.. maybe you're holding it wrong?

I made an implicit assumption :frown: unfounded :meh: life goes on

woody, wanna be my friend ? :flipoff2:

 a slow forum exposes the visitors to the ads for a longer time :hmm:

screamin fast for me, even with just the broadband card...

still making further tweaks, believe I got my pricing figgered out just a few minutes ago ;)

How do you like those lightning posts?! I had time to go lurk and come back lickety split! Did you turn up the juice? Nice. :D

Comcast/firefox = slow IH8MUD

Comcast/firefox = slow IH8MUD

Cumcast + Firefox 2 = Extremely slow today.
Cumcast + Mozilla 1.7.12 = Extremely slow today.
Cumcast + Exploder 7 = Extremely slow today.

Conclusion. Mud is extremely slow today.
