Hi
My Name is Pascal
I am from Germany
And i want to Build an hzj40 , that means i take an fj40 and put the 1hz , the h151f and the Axels in the fj .
And my question is : how easy is it to make that real ???

Easy job if you have all the stuffs ready.:D Bends to fit, dents to match. Everything is possible with money and time.

I say go for it for sure, but look for a H55 instead of a H151 because it is shorter and easier to work with, plus your driveshafts will be more equal length.

Thank you guys for the answers.
When i Start work on that project i will post a Lot pitures.

Yes I did in 2009 and had to extend the wheelbase to get some acceptable drive shaft lenghts.

There should be an old tread on here somewhere.

I choose the 1hdt/h151 (152?) because I had acces to a complete HDJ80 and I was living in Panama at that time so I had to work with wath was available.First I flipped the front and rear springs and used it like that for a while but then I also used the 80 suspension on the 40 but never got that fine tuned.

I will try to dig it up when I get back in TX.

Dunno that an H55/split wouldn't be the better choice behind an HZ, since an OE configuration and many report similar, if not increased longevity of, better operation of the H55, versus the longer H15Xs.

And it'll fit.

No point in COMPLETELY reinventing the wheel, when a partial is accessible.

I've driven and worked on the truck being imagined, 1HZ, h55f, split case in a restored 40 and I can attest to how well it works. Non-turbo, doesn't need one either.

Turbo is definetly not neccesary but long time ago I had a 1hz/h55 40 and then later the 1HDT/h151 40 and the later one was a lot more fun to drive because of the longer first gear and the turbo ;)
