Hey guys / gals. Need some help here. The local newspaper for URE has put a poll in their paper asking if poeple want to see OHV continuing up there on our trails. I am afraid this might be the start of something by the local yocals up there in gub to start trying to shut us down saying the local folks do not want us up there. Lets get more votes for keeping the trails open. Please share this with as many folks as you can for our sport .

This is the link in the local paper up there.

Thanks

Right now, 62.3% says yes (after I voted). Let's keep that percentage high.

I just voted, no article that I saw, but I had a long night and only one coffee so far. They should contact the locals around Tellico. The OHV crowd brings money with them to the local area. I am sure that this is a classic case of a handful of yahoos painting a bad picture for those of us that actually care about the land.

Well looks like everyones efforts are paying off. I just voted yes and its up to 91.8% as of right now.

Voted.

I think they should actually allow 4 wheeling in Umstead. Limited to smaller tires and higher trail ride fees. Limited to 35 inch tires or smaller and the ride price is $50 a day or something. Like the UK trails. Tons of unused land out there for those silly hikers and horse people.

No ATVs or motorcycles would be allowed and a lot more mountain bike trails.

Will vote tomorrow. This is not a good thing. There was a similar opinion poll run in Murphy in the late 90s, if I recall correctly, that started the process there. We need to make sure we have all the motorized groups on the same page ....

The above is merely my opinion ... But I am getting a bad Déjà vu feeling
