Getting better with weatherstrip installation. I actually used painters tape to reduce the amount of mess not covered up by the weatherstrip and it turned out nicely. Fit is of course very @Racer65 esque... perfect! Couple little tweaks possibly but not necessary now need to do a water test.

What's the eta update on this? I'm guessing that even though it is '74 specific, it would work fine and be an improvement for the previous years that use this same door?

Have you checked the fit? On what year? I’ve seen these intended for other Toyota vehicles, but the size is too small for a Cruiser.

Do you happen to know the size? diameter? thickness?

later cruisers different size than earlier rubber band style ones

I recall about 6" but thats about it

I have it on my 77. It is smaller than the original but not by much. I can take a pic later today of the one I installed.

Edit: here you go . Not great light.

Thanks for posting. I'll be installing the three floor-mounted clips from my '76 FJ40 somewhere on my '71 FJ40, so I'll just add the mounting holes a little closer together than in my '76. That should work.

Just a quick inquiry if you please...on a 12-76 FJ40 there is a hole (about 1 3/4" or so) in the bottom of the depression where the fuel tank sits. On my other three FJ40's I had a rubber plug that installed from the bottom to gain access to the fuel tank drain bolt. My current FJ40 did not come with this plug.

The local dealer does not show the plug or the part number in his computer. The nearest I have been able to discover is 90950-01102 but that appears to be too small. Any ideas? I really want one to seal up that big honking hole and keep water and dirt from under the tank.
