Just purchased this 2000 100 series, a bit more rust than I would like but got it for a steal @ $5k. 175000 miles, Michigan truck. Looking to do some repair but ,mostly just rust treatment to prevent its spread. Love the car so far, drives great!

Thanks for the insight. I have a guy who can sandblast, just uncertain whether that would really make a difference here.Cpolice, I would walk away from that one but I know plenty of people who would buy it. Looks like a section of the exhaust was replaced (did the original pipe rot out?) also why does it have aftermarket rear shocks at that low mileage? Rust looks normal for a Midwest truck. I’ve seen quite a bit worse up here. Ask for service history and make sure at least that was done, last thing you want is a rusted truck that you also need to do all the mainetenance items on right away.
@rampantwolf Are you going to give us a video DIY on swapping over frames?!
Have an opportunity to buy a 2004 LX470 for around $13k, 88k miles.
Had the owner send some undercarriage pictures and I'm slightly uneasy (pitted/corroded spare caught my eye). It has lived it's entire life in the midwest. The low miles and price keep me holding on, but would love a second opinion on the underside.

Price seems too high for that condition and age regardless off milage. Low miles high age is more likely to have all the rubber bits be stiff and deteriorating more than a car the same age and high milesHave an opportunity to buy a 2004 LX470 for around $13k, 88k miles.

@rampantwolf You need to create a separate thread documenting your frame swap. There would be a lot of interest and it may motivate you to get it done.![]()
