Rust behind rear mud flaps. (6 Viewers)

Hey guys!

I'm looking to see if this rust behind the rear mud flap of the passenger side is repairable? What is this part called that is rusted out? Has anyone else dealt with this before? Is this something that would be cut out with an aftermarket bumper?

I'm sorry for the amateur questions, I spent a good few hours researching the threads already about this, looking at a few parts diagrams, and talking to another user about this issue and was hoping to get some more info. You can see that it is completely rotted and there are now wires exposed and you can see it through my mudflap.

Any insight on if this is worth repairing is greatly appreciated.

any rust is repairable, it just depends on the budget. A body shop will likely have to fabricate and weld in new metal.

I am in this car for the long haul for sure. Rest of the car and the frame and everything are super solid. This is the only side that looks like this, so I may just get it done.

Hoping there's a decent place nearby that'll do it.
