We had 4 bushels of oysters New Years Eve, and only 4 of us eating them. I'm sure I ate a bushel, but they didn't look anything like that. Local clusters are the best. Gulf oysters are soooooo different!!

Julie Mays is just around the corner(so to speak) in Caravel also a great sea food place. Many years ago worked there getting the oryster's in to the place. Raking em up in the bay!!! Ah good times. :)

Had to go to traffic court today in Sville. Interesting place. Took me a while to find it. Wasn't expecting it to be in a strip mall. About a month ago, i got a ticket for disregarding a stop sign in my neighborhood, i rolled through it at 2 mph (whatever a tacoma rolls at when you dont have your foot on the break or gas). 100 dollar ticket (could have been more) and 4 pts. So i'm standing in line to talk to the officer to see if i can get the points reduced and i'm listening to the people in front of me and others were busted for doing like 20 over the speed limit and he reduced them down to 81 bucks and 2pts. A few different situtations like this and he was reducing points/price. I get up there and he tells me there is nothing he can do, automatic 4 points in SC. No reduction or anything. WTF. So i can do 15+ over the speed limit and they would reduce points. I know i was in the wrong, but still, i find this policy kind of off. rant over

First find out if the points are going to up your insurance, if not take it on the chin and move on :meh:. If its going to up your rates contact your insurance provider and see if taking a defensive driving class would help reduce your rates. If it will help lower your rates GET IT IN WRITING!!!! Take the class at Greenville Tech on sat and sun and turn in your certificate of completion to get your rates lowered and also you get up to 4 points back on your DL. Hope it helps

I talked to my insurance and they told me they only had it as 1 point in their books. So we'll see what happens. :meh:

I would regard ignoring/ running a stop sign as a more dangerous act since you are entering the path of oncoming traffic which is much more likely to cause an accident than say speeding, or atleast that would be my logic as to why they didn't give you a break :meh:

I understand what you are saying and i agree that i was wrong. But in my neighborhood, one road comes in and it T's. 3 stops signs. Really the road coming in should be a yield sign and the other two roads should be a stop sign. owell. i hope my money will help them get a building.

That sucks. I've been there, as you may recall. Funny thing is, once I plead not guilty and it got kicked to the State Court... nothing ever became of it.

Yeah, i hear you. I asked if i pleaded not guilty when the court hearing would be, they said sometime in March. So i just paid. I guess i might do what Kevin said if it works out, but if my insurance doesnt go up too much, i might just deal with it.

Also, the points won't hit your record for at least a little while and then even longer to get to your insurance company. Probably wouldn't hurt to go ahead and get the cert of completion and submit to your insurance at the right time. Talk to your insurance agent some more in a couple weeks to make sure they know you have points and are willing to offset that with the course - they may even have specific info on where to take it in order to meet their requirements.

I think it has something to do with it being a moving violation vs a non moving violation, or something like that....I got a ticket years ago for something other than speeding, can't remember what it was, but had the same thing happen to me with no reduction in points or fine....I do remember asking him why they were reducing speeding violations and it was because they could choose a lower speeding speed than they were actually clocked at therefore allowing them to reduce the fine and the points....so just speed and don't let Kevin catch ya...lol

Unfortunately they don't differentiate between blowing a red light and rolling through a stop sign, not stoping is not stopping. State law mandates the four points.
