I cant see a plastic straw doing any serious damage to your diff. I dont even want to know how it got in there

If it was my truck and only my truck being key here I would try to fish it out and if that did not work then just leave it alone. Metal versus plastic in the front diff. I am only talking about my truck and not a customers . Do the right on theirs but on mine it would be acceptable.
That's kinda my thought as well... I tried to fish it out, but it's unlikely that a small plastic tube is going to damage the differential. It will eventually nest itself somewhere or turn to paste and come out next time I change the fluid.
Some hoity toity designer had grand visions of sunken and secluded stone patio with disappearing waterfall for ambiance
That and I brought my crawler to work this week haha
That ground level shown at foundation is 26' below virgin grade and the poured footings are 6' deep with a 6' step down for that part of house even though a slab
And Stan is on it too.... Trying to create flat ground on the side of a Mtn
Interesting professions we have. There would be issues if I used "virgin" and "grade" in the same sentence.
I agree with everyone saying no biggie since it's plastic, but if you're like me there will always be a nagging voice in the back of your head reminding you it's in there. I don't know the answer to this but it would be worth calling autozone to ask if they have a borescope in their "loan-a-tool" program. Some models even let you take pictures ... You know, for nostalgia and all.

I agree with not worrying too much about the plastic. I have used ziplock bags in the past to catch gear oil when buddies broke axles or diffs during trail fixes. Open the cover, throw the bag back in, and start driving. The plastic gets chewed to bits and releases the gear oil. Pretty cool trick.
I mention this because one buddy who broke a Dana 35 axle shaft - so badly that I had to remove the diff, disassemble the Detroit locker and use my ball joint press to press the stub out of the coupler gear - ran the diff for another 15,000 or so miles after my trail side repair including throwing the ziplock bag of gear oil back in, before changing gear oil. To my knowledge, 11 years later, that diff is still going strong (ok, as strong as a Dana 35 can be).
The ziplock is a lot more plastic than you had and the LC 9.5" diff is a more robust design than the D35.

Got the rear axle done in the 80 last night. Hopefully get the snorkel and winch done this weekend and we will be ready for STR.

Ill drill a hole in your fender and you can work on those hard to reach fasteners inside the inner fender Deal?
Actually I'm back outta town. Home Friday and sat and back to Asheville this am. Did have to swap pinion seal in 80 and since I wasnt sore enough from rolling on drive I swapped tires too
Did this maybe 6-9 mos ago. Guessing the groove is my issue so I left the seal a little proud of the recess in housing since I didn't feel like trimming a seal down to fit deeper. Hopefully it lets the seal ride on fresh surface and works till I can get a new flange

Snorkel got done today.
That was nerve racking man. Drilling a hole in a perfectly good fender. lol. That one bolt in the upper rear was the only one that gave any trouble. Had to find someone with skinnier arms than me.
