Check your oil for gasoline. :bang::bang:

There must be a great story in there. I'm having a hard time bending my head around what could have happened. Fuel line connected to pcv port?

Nope. But the same consequences

Finally scraped a tad bit of $$$ together for cruiser things. So my Delta Current Controller arrived yesterday for my contour fans to go in the cruiser.

Now just back to the junk yard to grab the connectors I forgot when I got the fan and off to the parts store for a temperature probe. Should be making an appearance at the meeting sunday.... woot!!!

Finally got my oil drain plug unseized with some persuasion from the Orange hammer, some vice grips, and some pb.

I quickly got a new plug and gasket from mr T and got to work.

The oil that came out was black as I expected... I've had the truck since August and it sat after and before I bought it for quite a while, and I've been running marvel mystery oil for a few months.

2 gallons of shell rotella plus some STP oil treatment(zddp), a Napa gold 1515 oil filter, new plug and gasket

Quite a stress relief to know my tractor engine is well protected for a while.

Btw that STP oil treatment came out like jelly, really thick... Quite strange.

Was finishing carb adjustments and it started getting stuck at WOT yikes. Turns out the speedo cable was frayed and on its way out. Swapped it Thursday and that will make you appreciate that whole heated garage thing even more. Waiting for the salt to wash away before a test drive

I wish the truck could fit in the garage..... Last fee days have been brutal.working on the cruiser and cars outside

Not much better in a 30' X 40' X 12' ceiling all block shop with single pane windows Al. Could only reach 39 degrees with the wood stove on Wed. Got to the point where I could not feel tools in my hand. I need a better wood stove.

I am really beginning to hate winter. :)

Stan, a propane reddy heater would heat it in about 15 minutes, then the wood might maintain.
You should be able to pick one up for under $150.00.

Experienced an epic fail after my first oil change on the forty Friday night...

My day yesterday was spent fixing a huge mess caused by me not noticing the old oil filter gasket didn't come out when I removed the filter.

Checked for drips Saturday morning, none, I felt good. Turned on truck to warm it up, went inside for fifteen mins... Came back outside to a real mess... My personal Exxon Valdez moment... Too bad I had only one roll of paper towels and no kitty litter on hand... Harris Teeter run.

Yikes. Even the easy stuff can end up being a big deal, everything is a learning experience.

The offending gasket...

The trail of shame... Luckily all contained to my property.

Not really wrenching but put this old decal on while working on the truck yesterday.

My wife is gonna have one bad ass 80;)

how has your experience been with the monster transmissions?? I was going to do one for my suburban a few years back but saw some terrible reviews that stalled me. As with everything on the web there will be bad reviews though.

their prices are damn good though

Hanging heater on CL for $100. The one I had in my 30x60x12 shop was 150,000 BTU and was LP but one of these hanging guys should do the trick. If using a reddy heater I'm be careful to keep a CO detector handy.

If I still had the shop my next move was to install an outdoor wood burner.

This is going to have to graduate off TWT . I suggest a new thread called BAW80 (Bad A$$ Wife's 80). Subscribed.

I agree the CO is certainly an issue. The bigger issue is expense because it is only really unbearable 2 weeks out of the year on average. I am going to start with a better wood stove as I have a couple local buddies with similar shops that do far better with a different type of wood stove. Mine is a King.

BAW80, not a bad idea.................

Heather is really liking it.

So far so good Al. I also read some of the negative reviews but if you consider the sheer volume that Monster puts out the negative reviews are a very small fraction. They offer a 3 year warranty as well and will build the trans to your specs. Their customer service needs a bit of work. I chose them because I wanted a national company that my customers can turn to if there is an issue rather than having a trans re-built local to me.

Short little project I think others may like... replaced the cluster lights with LEDs and removed the "shields". Can actually read the gauges now:

RTH!!!!

Everything was going fine. Went out for a drive this morning, then pulled onto my pad. I walked inside, then came out to find my leaf springs and tires had fallen off!! How could this happen?!?
