Asked the two most prominent members on the 60 board (with 63s) if they ran overloads. They both do. Mine will be going back in. They can always be removed later if need be :D

My advice is to run the overloads. The 60s have a big rear and need some weight control plus I still have plenty of flex with keeping the overloads in. I originally ran without the overloads at the very beginning and I didn't like it.

This was when the passenger side was still straight. I have installed an additional overload to each rear pack mostly for leveling purposes but it did not make the packs too stiff. It takes speed bumps better now.

I run the overloads too. And don't run a wrap bar. SFSG.

Captured nut and broken bolt day

Continued the HAMOM spirit Sunday and R&R'd Alex's arb. He cleaned up some rust, moved his winch selenoid, cleaned up his DRL mod and I attacked some broken bolts in the frame since I was on broken Bolt duty already in my projects.

those included mounting the windshield hinge mirrors I got from brad at the HAMOM, thanks again man! First one took 20 min second 4 hours ha. It had a broken bolt that needed extracting and a captured nut missing for the set screw. First attempt with JB weld failed instantly n second attempt was welded but with poor penetration. Finally turned up the heat and got it set. But no the project couldn't end yet. Of course the last screw wouldnt budge and exploded with a impact driver and sledge. Out came the 1/2" drill and extractors again and finally had it mounted up. Hope the stay put better at highway speeds

I do not recall, is Moonshine sprung over? If so I would call that a mitigating factor. Too bad the overload isn't on the top.

She is SOA. I think it's going to work well, we'll see :D

Not really wrenching, but picked up a 3/8" plate yesterday and got to exercise the plasma:

Sheeeeeet that is a lot of steel

One section will become a skid/crossmember, and not sure on the rest yet. Maybe a thicker surface for my welding table?

I'm very happy with how the plasma performed on this 3/8" plate.

The carb on the 40 has been on for 10 years without a rebuild. Last Saturday, on the way to Brad's HAMOM, she stumbled a little so I knew it was time. Jason had no idea the history of his 750, err 650, uhh, I mean 570 so it came in for a refurb too.

Disassembly and cleaning ...

Jason finished product. Still waiting for install and test drive report. The bling fuel log is reported to add 10 horses and 15 ft Lb of torque. :hillbilly:

I would love to see your welding table build. That is one project I have been putting off for too long.

To help prevent additional painful and expensive posts to TWT, check your antifreeze. Forecast here is +1 on Wednesday night and -1 on Thursday night (and a high of 15!). My guess is on the Friday morning drive to work we will see several overheating cars on the side of the road.

carb install and test drive report.....

WOW That about sums it up. Who knew the old carb was so out of tune. I did notice the rear bowl had been leaking upon removal. So much more driveable and beyond pleased with the improvements. Will be even more stoked if there is more to gain from tuning. Many thanks again to @Rice for the assistance to the newb and for capturing the carb cleaner moment.

Ha. It wasn't that bad. Not sure how you guys mucked it up :flipoff2:

Rices first instruction was to throw away the instructions so either you followed them too closely or you skipped to step #6 to soon and repeated too often.

I guess I should have said. Thanks for the heated garage. That is awesome!!!
