Troubleshot the ignition system... Turned out the battery was too far dead for recharging. Installed a new starter, battery, and cleaned up the grounds on the cables. Also, replaced some fusible links and somehow my heater works again! Oh, and replacing the water temp sensor has resulted in the temp registering on the gage. Amazing!!!

Resolved all of the antifreeze leaks. Now if I could just resolve the oil leaks... :hmm:

But it still looks weird with no shocks... New Bilstein 5125's arrive this week.

All in all, a good day for the 40.

Replaced the factory drum brake pro portioning valve with a plug and play adjustable unit.

Sorry. I forgot to say that the delivery was courtesy of eric forest and any help will be appreciated. I will finish the engine first and then get word out for help.

I've heard of them being used on mini trucks, but not on a cruiser. (???)

I'm looking for first hand experience, lol.

63 inch Chevy Springs have been used on nearly every Chevy pickup and van, in the rear, since 1988. Has anyone used AALs or done a lift or anything to a truck like that, if not on a cruiser or mini truck?

Started on a new bumper for Heather's 80. Three piece design, the wings use 3 bolts on the side and two on the top. The center section uses two bolts on top and two on the bottom. Don't think it is going anywhere.

Side plate attaches after center plate is installed. Wing will weld to the vertical plate and have additional support out to the end. its been over a year since I have built a bumper cant say that I miss it all that much.

Looks great Stan! Am thinking we may need to have some discussions re: a 70 series bumper in the future ....

Plate bumper?!? Who is this :D

My tube bender is buried on a shelf, was too lazy to dig it out. I just wanted to do something different, I even looked at , shhhhhhhhh buying a bumper. But by the time I had it shipped I'd be over a grand so I choose to build one. The modular design is something I've had in the back of my mind for a while and never got the chance to do it.

I, for one, really like it! I like the concept and the execution looks great. Envious of the fabrication skills, sir.

Well thanks Sam. It really is not all that tough to do Sam and melting steel with fire somehow satisfies a primal need. It is just something you have to jump in and do. Just a plan in your head and an extra roll of welding wire on the shelf.

I like where this is going @NCFJ - I'm a "plate bumper" man myself.

That is AWESOME! You inspire me man!
