Got a new impact today still the smaller 1/4” impact not ready for the big boy one yet I’ll get there I break enough bolts with the previous version of this impact. But to fix that got a decent set of extractors. I like these a lot more than the longer skinny extractors I’ve used in the past.

At Walmart!

Those are awesome.

They're normally $50/each at Home Depot, that's a good deal if you normally shop at MSC with their 40% markup

MSC? manhattan supply co?

I have a lead on a stash of old American vises. I’m getting an old Parker (434 1/2) humpback and maybe a medium sized prentiss swivel jaw (#21).

Prices are at the ‘you suck’ level but very reasonable and most of the vises have been restored to very nice condition. If someone is interested in one, let me know and I can see about picking it up when I get mine. I ‘think’ the guy is in the hickory area but haven’t made plans to meet up yet.

That prentiss looks like a replacement for the parker you sold me :p

Have a list?

Your Parker is about 75lbs heavier vs the Prentiss...i think. I've chatted with the guy over email and the Parker 434 1/2 is mine and I might consider the Reed 404 1/2...not that i need another vise. Like I said, prices are reasonable and I'm paying $200 for the Parker. He's asking $300 for the Prentiss 21 but it comes with a set of Kevin's (KMScott on garage journal) jaws which are $93 plus shipping.

I was hoping that if folks were interested I could broker a 'package deal' price.

Prentiss 21
Reed 404 1/2
Columbian 204 1/2
Parker 272
Parker 434 1/2
Rock Island 92
Prentiss 52
Record 3
Prentiss 19 1/2

I could be talked into the columbian 204 1/2. I think the throat depth would compliment my parker's capabilities.

Made a base for my harbor freight portaband tonight. Receiver style mount slides into rails in my welding table. Should be very useful!

The 2" square hanging out to the right will be turned into a handle of some sort. Need to figure that out in the coming nights.

nice.....

I managed to pick up a NIB porter cable roofing nailer for $50 instead of 189$..... score...… still have about 85% case of coils for it...

My first one was a porter cable from a pawn shop. Finally wore it out, I have a Max, Bostich, and a Hitachi, now.
Nice score.

Well, this is no Monarch 10EE, but it's mine and I wanted to share. I got this little Sherline 4500 lathe from my Dad several years ago. I've just recently started to clean it up and go through it. I think these lathes are primarily used for model making, which is what my Dad used it for. One of the coolest things about it is the fact that it's made here. Even the chuck and most of the components are sourced stateside. Even better, the company is still around and makes lots of parts for all their machines, including a DRO. Evidently they also make mills and small CNC set ups.

I only started messing around with this lathe about two weeks ago. So far it's a lot of fun to use. It's supposed to be able to cut tool steel, but I won't be attempting that. I love the little Jacobs chuck it comes with. now i need to mount it to a more rigid and dedicated surface.

It has cleaned up nicely.
