Transmission temperature on a late model 100 series (1 Viewer)

Ill just add one interesting tidbit,

My understanding is that the trans coolant lines reduce your trans temps but this design's primary focus is to help keep the motor cooler and due to the tranny's close proximity to the motor (i know this is obvious) it does dissipate some thermal energy.

in other words, if my understanding is valid-true, the auto transmission itself doesnt need to be cooled which is interesting for some reason.

Doubt it. The fluid needs to be cooled when roaming around in low speeds in hot environments. Heat is the only thing that kills fluid and an oversize pan and cooling system (radiator) prevent that from happening.

Bumping this older thread to thank @abuck99 for this info. Even after a call to the vendor, this is what it took to get my TFT displaying accurately in my 05 LX.

Torque Pro displays both pan and converter temp on my FJ Cruiser that comes with a A750 transmission. Its my understanding that torque converter temp provide lock up control data to the ECU. The A750 is a well proven robust transmission but if operated in hot regions with frequent heavy traffic idling and stop and go as well as slow steep hill climbs a auxiliary transmission cooler is highly recommended. Before I put a Hayden 679 my temperatures would normally be around 90 and close to 115C during heavy use. Now it hardly ever goes over 80C no matter what the condition from off road in sand to steep hills.

I know this works on a Scangauge II (with updated firmware) on an '04.

This worked for my 04! Holy thread revival, but wth.

Curious where’d you mount your Hayden679 on your FJ/100? Pictures would really help. Thanks

Holy Jeff Spikoly - been trying for hours to figure it out and the above codes worked on my 04LX! Wow, thx!

Old thread but for those who want to know if it works in summer 2021, yes sir! Sure does! I can now flush the trans and know the temp to read it to check it for final top off.

@102°F outside temp with 8% humidity, now at approximately 15,000+ miles, WS ATF (fluid exchange method + new at pan gasket).

Vegas summer about to get real hot.

Nice! Is that Torque Pro or another pgrm? Besides my Scangauge II, I also bought a Kit Best OBDII plug-in and am wondering what's a good prgm to use on my phone. Specifically, I can't read oil pressure on my Scangauge and would like to know if Torque Pro or others can read it/display it. Reason I want to know is because my oil pressure seems to always read on the low side, esp at idle.

This is what I use on my iPhone:
If you have an android phone the torque pro is great.

Thank you, sir! I have a Samsung phone so I'll give it a shot. Do you or anyone know if Scangauge or if torque pro can read oil pressure? Talking about an 04 LX470.

Been circling oil pressure for a while. My understanding is there is no Oem pressure monitor to read off of. Not sure how the dash gets its signal...
The sender is right below or next to the oil filter. That's where the gauge gets the reading. I was thinking of installing an aftermarket electronic gauge that displays a digital reading, as oppossed to the factory gauge. I know all you need is 10 psi at idle as long as it goes up when RPM goes up, and it does, to a point, but actual reading eludes me.

Would be nice to have calibrated bt sender.

I do not think them Oem is calibrated to any values other than a low oil level trip. Propably wrong on this, so awaiting evidence.

I have OBD Fusion but don't see anything like AT Oil Pan or AT Torque Converter. Can you advise how to add those displays? Everything else you're showing here
looks familiar. I'm reading off a 2006.

I had to purchase the extra PIDs to get that function in the Settings of the a;

Hope this helps.
