Anyone able to get trans temp for an 2006 LC/LX470? In the past I was able to use a ScanGauge II on my 99 for trans temp but never on the 06.
Im open to anything that works UltraGauge, ScanGauge, torque ELM, or anything that can give trans temp for an 2006.

Make my day!

I know this works on a Scangauge II (with updated firmware) on an '04.

TXD – 686AF101B4

RXF – 044105B40000

RXD – 2808

MTH – 00090005FFD8

IIRC things change after 05

I have an 06 LC and input the codes to successfully display transmission temperature a year ago.
It will work on an 06.
However, I don't have the vehicle with me now, and cannot find a record of the codes.
It may be the above as Sandroad says.
Also on the Scangauge site, » X-Gauge Categories » TOYOTA – LEXUS/SCION there is this:

Sorry I can't be of more specific help, but I guess one or the other of the above will work.

Exactly the response I was looking for

Thanks!

Great. It worked for you? Now I know what I did.
Schizophrenic existence.

@LandCruiserPhil

All things scanguage and Torque app in this thread. here

@Tredwards figured out the scanguage and torque app conversions for Trans temp codes on late model 100's at post 59 in the same thread: here

Not sure if the 06 MY changed to canbus but if the codes posted above dont work, these codes he supplied worked on the scanguage on my 05LC (not canbus) when no others would.

from post #59 in the thread I linked above-

Dropped by ScanGauge/Linear logic today to get my 10 year old ScanGauge updated.
I cant say enough good things about these guy same employes from my last visit 5 years ago saya a lot.

Have a seat and we will upgrade it while you wait. Can you also program the trans temp code for my 2006 LX470, sure not a problem. In 10-15 minutes they bring my ScanGauge back out and say sorry it took so long your screen looked a little dim and your buttons where dirty so we replaced the display and the buttons along with the upgrade. Followed with here are the latest manuals and couple extra pieces of velcro. OK thank what do I owe you? Nothing thanks for bringing by and have a happy holiday. F-ya!

Great folks. Kinda a shame that service stories like that are getting to be more rare all the time.

Very cool. Great to hear.

Which codes worked for your 06?

Phil,

That seems like a high TFT number, at least compared to where mine lives which is 120s- 140's. I always felt mine was low compared to my other vehicles which register closer to 190-200 degrees. I am sure it depends on where the sensor is placed to gather the data- before torque converter (cooler), or after torque converter ( much hotter). I was told the sensor on the LC was before the TC.

I wonder if next time you're out in your truck if you would check the codes against the ones I posted above to know if they are using different parameters. Interested to know what software version they upgraded you to?

PS: your 100 gets awful gas mileage

That is absolutely not a high number. My pan runs at ambient temps +80°F like clockwork. The sensor downstream of the torque converter can reach 200°F in the summer in stop and go traffic.

Yes there are two sensors and yes you can read both on the SG.

Please post how you get readings from both sensors.

Two different codes?

Trans temps are correct and normal from what I have monitored in the past on previously owned 100 series. I have seen trans temp at 200° in the past. The funny part it was at 55mph in OD on a flat road pulling my boat. Since that day if my speed is below 65 I do not use OD and my trans temps stay at 175 or less under any condition. Because a 100 series with VVTi can do anything  I have been known to test the limits. Also consider I live in AZ and everything get well tested when it 115° out and you are pulling.

Phil- I don't disagree with your operating temps- the point was in comparison to my temps. Mine seem low, I've yet to see 150F on my gauge even when the ambient air temps were close to 100F and pavement temp was 120+F and pulling my small 2000lb trailer. I suspect my Xguage parameters might be off, and knowing the coding parameters they entered for your TFT X-Guage would help confirm what I posted above #8 is accurate or not.

Page 39 & 40 in the user manual explains how to pull up the code: » User Manuals (just cancel out of the gauge functions so you don't change what they entered).

@04UZJ100 ; If you have the parameters on how to pull temps from both sensors please post it. I found a visual schematic of the sensor locations on our A750 trans but they are positioned less than 4 inches from each other in the valve body. I'm not clear how there would be much variance in temperature between the two based on the close proximity, but maybe there is a difference.

Techstream only offers one trans temp reading so I think it would be safe to assume you are only going to get one reading from ScanGauge. For referance the FSM states 122°-176° as normal running temp, pretty much what I see running around town. Testing the fluid level should be done between 115°-130°.

As a confirmation I talked with SG tech support. The parameters I posted above are in fact what they loaded in your 06 LX and good for at least 04/05/06 Toyo/Lex models. FWIW They do not believe you can pull data from both sensors. Checking my TFT operating temps they suggested I compare TFT against water temp, intake air temp first thing in the morning- water temp and TFT were with in 1 degree of each other at start up today, so I guess my TFT temps are pretty accurate. I'm surprised my trans runs so cool, suppose that's not a bad thing I guess.

These are the X-Guage parameters to retrieve TFT data for ISO protocol.

Ill just add one interesting tidbit,

My understanding is that the trans coolant lines reduce your trans temps but this design's primary focus is to help keep the motor cooler and due to the tranny's close proximity to the motor (i know this is obvious) it does dissipate some thermal energy.

in other words, if my understanding is valid-true, the auto transmission itself doesnt need to be cooled which is interesting for some reason.
