I ran 33's on my stock 62...no lift at all. the only place it ever rubbed was where it got hit above the RR tire.
35's now thats a different story...

2" is fine but 3" is silly?? makes total sense.... where does that leave 2.5" 
Do what you want Gabe it is your cruiser, but I'd think twice before taking aesthetic advice from a guy sporting a rainbow under his hood

having done a 2" body lift on a 60 not too long ago... I can vouch that the only issue you will run into is the fan shroud.
I solved this by installing an electric fan. But modifying the shroud and/or the radiator mounts is no big issue.
The body lift has absolutely nothing to do with changing the castor of your drive shafts...the only thing being moved up is the body, not the suspension, the drive train in relation to the axles will remain the same.
As for extending the fuel filler tube and breather line, just loosen the hose and slide it down a bit, no big issues at all.
the brake lines will be fine with 2" body lift and some 2.5" over stock shackles. Thats the exact set up I had. Again, no issues with drive train angles at this point, no vibrations at 70 mph.
33" tires will fit on a 60 with stock suspension but they look MUCH better lifted IMO. A 4x4 is supposed to have an air gap between the fender wells and the tires, not a tucked look like a honda civic.
The only issue i had with the body lift is the huge gaps between your stock bumper and the body.
You have a new bumper for your rig up front so that will be no issues.
As for the back, you'll still have a gap that i consider very unsightly. This can be filled in the same way that sport compact ricers make cheap front lips, go to homedepot and buy a section or two of lawn edging.
With some small screws and two sided tape you can easily fill in the gap in the rear (front too if you plan on installing the bumper later) If you trim and fit it right it will look like it came stock to anyone passing by.
These DIY cheap lips (less than 30 bucks)d have been installed on everything from cheap civics to really nice 3rd gen RX7's.

I agree with Marshall I have one inch of body lift and while I was changing a lot of that stuff anyway, there was sufficent slack in the stock lines to allow even one more inch. As to looking silly lifted in the body 1 or two inches is not even noticed by anyone, but the purist cruiser types and they don't like anything that's not factory orginal anyway. So if Gimpy wants to lift it 2 inches go for it. Nuff said.
I have done lots of other stuff to make my cruiser look silly the lift never even gets mentioned. LOL Doc

Yes Doc, the body lift isn't the first thing I notice about your Cruiser
throw the dent's body on the new cruiser and lets SOA. Give Marshall 15 different color spray paints and let his creative side come out.

I think Gabe should chalk board the new 60...let all 13 of his children go to town with side walk chalk coming up with a new design each week.
The paint is actually in pretty good shape. As for the rest. Ended up using 4 rolls of electrical tape. But it's all back together and everything works. Even the glove box light.

Yeah had to disconnect choke cable. Now it is idling at 500 rpm's though. Might be too low!

with a manual tranny you don't need many rpms to idle, especially with no AC
500 may be a tad low, i was thinking 650 but i have to remember the idle/WOT rpms of so many different engines that I could be confused...I now set the rpms of all equipment by ear.
