Question on the shock guards. If they get hit on hard enough to need them, wouldn't the shock guard pivot up and force the front of the guard into the shock anyway? I say this just because it looks like they attach with one bolt, which would be strong enough to keep them attached, but it might not be as effective at stopping the rotational force. I'm sure you thought of this already, so maybe there's more going on with how it attaches and/or other pieces of the shock mount resisting any rotational forces? Please explain.

(and apologies if it already is explained somewhere in the 45 pages of this thread!)

They attach at two points. The shock fastener and the grade 8 bolt through the shock mount housing so it can't move laterally or horizontally. Same concept as the ones I have and I slammed them more than few times in Moab with no movement.

Correct! I think someone could hammer on these with a 16# sledge and not budge them. Not sure on @TonyP build materials (never seen them) mine are all 3/16" HSLA steel and the main shield is double bent as well for even more rigidity. So it acts as a shield and a skid at the same time.

I made a set of big bore rear shock guards for @indycole (BP-51s) I made 2 more sets for making a jig. But gauging interest from you guys. Anyone else interested.

These are the prototypes so they look a little rougher than a production set would look.

Looking to be around the 165.00 mark in bare metal.

Definitely interested. Any way to extend the guard so it covers more of the rod? Being in the desert (Phoenix), much of my off-road driving is on dirt/sand, at higher speeds, vs. rock crawling. My main concern is with pitting on the rod from sand, rather than rock strikes. Thanks!

You know for that, you can just put a rubber boot on it. Not as sexy but does the job for my Tundra.

Definitely interested. Any way to extend the guard so it covers more of the rod? Being in the desert (Phoenix), much of my off-road driving is on dirt/sand, at higher speeds, vs. rock crawling. My main concern is with pitting on the rod from sand, rather than rock strikes. Thanks!

It's a quick change in CAD. I can make them .001"- ??" longer. As shown is at standard piston exposure. Approx. 6".

My custom build has almost twice the lighting as this bumper. Not to mention side rack and rear camping and spotting lights.

I only run 2 small spots or one large center spot and the rest are flood coverage. I prefer to see what's 30-50' in front of me at all times.. Not so much 300' at 40+mph.. I let the front bumper take care of that nuisance waste at 40+ mph....HA!

With just the drawers installed, the rear is squatting quite a bit. I’m guessing after the rear bumper goes on, I’ll need stiffer springs for sure.
