Had some construction leftovers that we had listed for free 2 weeks ago. They had 2 views as of last night before we relisted them $12. Multiple inquiries today. They should be picked up in the morning.
Can you hold onto them for me? I'm driving from Holly Springs. Is there anything else you can do to sweeten the deal? Thanks.

Awesome! Please let me meet you half way? Well, ok, I’ll go further than halfway way because I understand how busy you are. Ok. Yeah, I can just come the rest of the way because I understand how important it is for you to keep an eye on other For Sale listings because you’re also looking for other stuff and things can pop up at any minute. Yes, god bless you too.

Please understand that if the item is not in perfect condition I will not accept it.

Please to observance my feedback and I think happiness shall be yours. I only sell top notch items that have been lovely shown to them and were used on the rarely. I can simply return the item since it is still new but would rather pass saving and good deal to you. I will keep if you do not buy with satisfaction.

Aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnd..........wait for it...........BOOM! Another angry day for John. He gave a window to pick up. I agreed. Waited an extra 15 minutes. 30 minutes later*** after asking if he was on his way......"Where are you located? What's your address?" If my address wasn't IN THE BODY OF THE AD then I'd tell him I'm in the pits of hell where he'd wish he was ONLY at "broom handle/NYCPD"-level.

***I am acutely aware that I myself have been guilty of (cough cough) poor time management skills once or thrice, but at least I know where I'm going BEFORE I'm supposed to arrive.

Phew! Ok, so anyway...got a guy that evening who set a time for the next morning, let us know he was probably running a little late, then still showed up with time to spare. He drove over 25 miles intending to pay me $40 because he misunderstood the wording of the ad (never mind that he could have bought more of the same new for $40 than I was selling scraps of for $12). Of course, I gave it all to him for free. Here's to Tim from Rock Hill...one hell of a guy. Let the world be his oyster.

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago through Facebook Marketplace. The seller listed several sheets of 16 gauge sheet metal. Price was fine. Seller was located in Burlington. I was going to Burlington anyway to pick up another item from a mud member. I reached out to the seller twice prior to the day of the Burlington trip, asking for the address and trying to set up a time. The seller never gave me an address, only confirmation that the day I had in mind was okay with them. We agreed to firm up plans on the day of my trip. The morning of the trip, while on the road, I contacted the seller to ask again for the address and to tell him I'd be in the area at around 1:30 - 2:00. No response. I made three more attempts to contact between 11:00 and 2:00. Nothing...so I came home. The metal is still for sale on FB Marketplace. Good luck to anybody who can actually get the seller off his ass to actually sell it to them.

Life throws you a middle finger every now and again.

Birthday is coming up and I made tiny tiny bonus for some reason. Talked to Andrea about either finding some good used 33's for the 16 inch rims I have for the cruiser so I can then get rid of the dubs or waiting for the good tires on those dubs to wear out and instead getting sliders.
Found a local place that will make slider kits for the right price.

Go to get in the lexus to drive over and talk to the shop and I have one huge buldge in a tire and smaller ones in two of the other tires. Tires were getting low on tread but I should have easily been able to close out the year on them.

So now no sliders or tires for the cruiser instead tires for the lexus...

Hunger Games, Corporate Edition Q3. Our org just had a meeting where if you were on it, you were in scope for potential surplus in Q3. Notifications shall be in mid-Aug, and you would be off the books in 60 days. We literally just completed one of these (voluntary), where we had about 6 retire. They were off the books July 30th. That was round 2...Round 1 was in Feb, where our org lost 13 across the country (10 or 11 voluntary, the rest were involuntary). The AVP that hosted the call was very vague, did not give out info she had (like the # or % they were seeking, actual end date, etc). Was a totally useless call, other than to get everyone on it all balled up since the invite came out last night at 9pm et). Many other orgs and teams have had, or will be having calls today.

May the odds always be in your favor...

We had "The Talk" too. Our 3rd level told us that it appeared that our group (C+E) would not be affected. Here's hoping you and I will both be around for as long as we want to be. My daughter is having another major surgery tomorrow. The insurance sure is nice.

Best of luck for tomorrow's surgery, Dave. I'm tryin not to stress over the work stuff. Keeping family safe, sane, and healthy is a far more important priority. Besides, im sure theres room on the @fj40z and @jfz80 compound ;)

Picked up the 60. Feels really nice.

However, I'd like your opinion:

/rant[on]

You go pick something up, let's for the sake of discussion refer to it as a "truck"
You pay for said item with a credit card
That card goes in the machine, and you sign the receipt
The guy that handed you the receipt talks to you for 20 minutes
He never hands you back the card
You drive off, none the wiser
The phone call that you receive indicates that "You left your card here, I found it in the machine"

The opinion: Did I leave my card there, or did you forget to give me back my card? I mean, it's semantics, but for once I'd like a place to be like "sorry about that" It doesn't cost a cent to say. I didn't ask you to drive it across town to me, I'll go get it at lunchtime. But ya know, I'm not the one swiping the card, you have to take some responsibility.

Totally feel your pain. Sometimes I wish I was none the wiser and didn't have the aptitude to understand the differences. Not only is ignorance blissful...but sounds appealing if you can be on the ignorant side of things.

I've aways been too smart for my own good. Yeah, yeah...I know what you're thinking, but most of you only know me since I started the long, slow process of "the dumbening". This is talking way too long. Blissful ignorance, here I come.

The more people I meet, the better I like my dogs!

Update:

She said "thanks for coming in to grab it, and I'm sorry about that".... all is forgiven.

Doss Towing and Automotive = Thumbs up. The guy actually was very knowledgeable. I might even see if he wants to finish the biscuit project. Talked him through it, and he gave me a ballpark $ estimate for labor that was about right. Didn't have the heart to ask how long it might take.

Any guesses?

We have a winner!

To finish:
Wire in MS3 piggyback ECU
Wire in custom A442f TCU
Install bigger fuel pump
Install bigger injectors
Likely replace factory MAF sensor

And turn up the boost from current 3-4psi to infinity and beyond. (IE: tune it)

Would love to do it myself or have someone in the group to take it on, but wiring is a very specific skill set. One that I am great at conceptually, but in practice I'm worse than Michael J Fox on 3 double espressos...

So a denso TT supra pump
supra TT injectors

Why not do a stand alone.... piggybacks never seem to work well on yotas
Then you could go map sensor

MS3 can run the whole deal for sure.

There are a lot of changes that have to happen to go that route - trust me. But, dooable. For one, you lose the stock cold injector. It's challenging to get some of the stock gauges to work (have to run a second temp sender for CLT). You lose any check engine light. It's not technically street legal.

But.... you have full control of timing, super nice for boosted applications. You can run different tunes for different scenarios (93 vs 87 tune, for example). You can also easily log all your engine parameters for analysis.

I'll admit, I've still not gotten a steady idle from crank, across all ambient temps. And I'm a little shocked my mileage is pretty much crap. But, I have really enjoyed the MS stuff and learned a ton.
