So a denso TT supra pump
supra TT injectors

Why not do a stand alone.... piggybacks never seem to work well on yotas
Then you could go map sensor
Was planning on walbro and Injector Dynamics, but potato/tomato...

Yeah - not really looking for a discussion on it. Unless, you're the guy installing it and want to convince me to change the plan because it'll be easier/cheaper for you to complete :)

OK, so we bought a new washer and dryer, Maytag. Even on the bottom, not so much on the top, matching pair my Azz. How is uncle Ed going to sleep across them now? Notice the tag that proudly states Maytag on the dryer. Hope the rest of the dryer was assembled better!

When I closed my business and sold off everything, I also sold the Nikon D7000 I used. Stupid move! The Coolpix Nikon I have been using is a joke so after I sold some tires and wheels I decided to order a new Nikon. Having had good luck with Best Buy I decided to order from their web site since the camera and lens combination wasn't available in the stores. Arrived Friday. The outside shipping box was in a pristine condition but this is the condition of the box the camera and lens are in. One corner was crushed and the end has been folded. Called Best Buy and they agreed to send another camera and provide a call tag for UPS. The only problem, this camera was shipped from their returns center and I am a little worried that the next one will be a return or worse. Told the rep I spoke with on the phone that I wouldn't accept one shipped from the return center and he assured me nothing is shipped to a customer from the returns center.

The end which suffered the damage just happens to be the end the camera body is in. And, someone has wrapped both the camera body and lens in bubble wrap bags leading me to believe this has been returned previously and they were looking for a sucker to send it to.

Have you ever looked into bhphotovideo.com?

I wanted to stay away from the gray market sellers.

B&H is definitely not a "gray market" seller. Legit brick and mortar store in NYC which I used to drop by from time to time when I lived up there. I have ordered most of my electronics from them (couple of iPads, Nikon 3400 for the wife, etc). Very competitive pricing along with free shipping and no sales tax when buying online from NC equals a great deal most of the time.

They are closed on the sabbath and other jewish holidays, but customer service is good (better than Best Buy IMHO) and shipping is fast. I highly recommend!

I have shopped oneline for years at bhphoto. They were early adopters of the internet and volume discounting. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I would bet money they will be around long after Best Buy is folded and gone.

United Healthcare will not cover braces for my daughter even though they are not a cosmetic appliance in her case. You see, Ava has had her skull split open from the roof of her mouth to the crown of her head. Eye sockets cut out, multiple bone grafts. Her palate was widened to make her top teeth match the width of her bottom teeth. Braces are needed to support this extensive work. She has had them since age 9. She will likely have them well into her teens. I pay for this out of pocket because United Healthcare considers braces as cosmetic. When pressed for real answers on why an exception can’t be made, their response is that even though they are the healthcare provider, my employer is a self insured entity and that it’s my employer’s call. My employer won’t budge. My only option is to file a complaint through the Labor Board. I’d like to stay employed here so I don’t dare do that for fear of losing my job. So I pay...and continue to pay for years worth of braces. Oh, and these aren’t just ordinary braces. She has teeth that have to be moved into place with anchors, bands and gold chains. Crazy stuff. Expensive, crazy stuff.

So ever since the engine swap on my wrx I've been smelling what to my very sensitive nose smelled like a slight coolant leak at full throttle. Checked every connection, no leaks or white drops... No white smoke out of the tailpipe, coolant is still at top level... so it's been somewhat of a mystery. Until about a week ago when filling up the gas tank, I caught a whiff of a similar odor. Turns out what I was smelling was ethanol. Ran a tank with some non-ethanol gas, and the smell is gone.

Who knew that ethanol smells like coolant? Not me, for sure.

Wow.... um, suddenly every problem I have in my life seems non rant-worthy. That sucks bigtime.

^^^this.

Holy crap.

Not here looking for sympathy. Just a rant on insurance in general and how ridiculous dealing with insurance can be. In our situation an analogy would go something like this: You fall and break your leg. You go get the leg re-set. Insurance pays for the doctor to re-set the broken bone but won't pay for a cast to support the broken leg to ensure it heals properly. Makes no sense.

You may not be asking for sympathy Dave, but you certainly have my empathy. That's a tough spot to find yourself, and I send my best wishes for your daughter. Sounds like she's a tough girl! Keep up the good fight brother, but I totally understand not risking your career - sad you have to consider that for what you should be entitled, to begin with. Your employer sucks in that regard IMO!

Dave, You should be able to have the specialist send UHC a letter describing the medical need for the appliances, and appeal their decision. Have the Dr say, without the appliances, there will be a greater risk of additional surgeries, or complications going forward because of the lack of appliances. We were able to get them to cover a bone stimulator for my wife after they originally denied her on two occasions. The Labor Board wont really do much at all with regards to your situation.

We've been through all that. We have piles of paperwork with insurance codes and cryptic information filed by doctors on our behalf. No dice. The only exception UHC and our employer recognizes for braces is for cleft palate. Ava's diagnosis (craniofrontonasal syndrome) is far more complicated than a cleft palate but it is not recognized or covered for braces. It's a one in a million diagnosis. Literally less than a thousand known diagnoses in the world. Square peg, round hole. We pay.

I don't complain about it too much because insurance has paid out close to a million dollars for Ava since birth. She just had her 14th surgery last week, a cranioplasty. That one will be another $100K+ on the books. You know what really gripes me though? Insurance pays more for the surgical room than it does for the surgeon! In fact, Ava's world-renowned cranial surgeon will make less on this last surgery than the Anesthesiologist who wasn't even in the operating room. It's a screwed up mess. I just pay my max out-of-pocket every year and go on about life. Thank God for insurance and damn insurance all in one sentence.

Only liked that post because I totally feel your pain. I cant recall a year where we didnt hit out out of pocket max. We tried BCBS in 2018, since the cost was less, but the benefits were "the same". The jury is still out on if we will stay with them or back to UHC for enrollment this year. Thats assuming I dont get one of "those" email calendar invites next week.

Motor swap?? go to an STI?

David, I would think you just need to find a procedure code your Dr can use for the billing that the insurance wouldn't flag as cosmetic. There has to be something creative out there.
