If you wanted to be the poster child for the longest almost-done project, you’ve already won. So it’s ok to finish the truck now.:)

I felt guilty so fired it up yesterday grabbed the dog and drove it around the block. New puppy approved . We have a vacation starting Friday and I will hammer on it when I get back. It really is done other than paint.

:clap:My dogs also must sign off on all my projects.:drowning:

You could have made it lucky 7 at the Relic Run.

so cleaned the garage with the help of Roo and Catapult, because I needed to find the running boards to align the fenders before removal and bodywork / paint.. Roo clearly had issues with the cardboard box so she taught it a lesson. Was able to find the running boards, and after messing with panel alignment started patching some old cuts in the fender from the 90's. These fenders came off my FJ40 so they are well traveled, wanted to keep them as they have been all over the country.

Hopefully Roo doesn’t have any issues with running boards.

Building a quick project that will help with bodywork and paint on the fenders. Was an old tubing bender stand used before the tubing bender went hydro and got mounted on an engine stand. Wheels were in a box from a choir project when jenn used to sing.

And they can mount forwards or backwards and hopefully upside down. Now to clean the garage yet again.

Gave up on trying to finesse two fenders that have been in my possession for 25 years and beat on. So. These took a while to arrive but new OEM fenders are here.

Sad you have to hack them up for the shock towers, steering, etc.

Guess it is like taking something beautiful and then giving it a boob job.... making it even better!!

Question, anyone know what size these screws are?

I pulled one and tested it in an M5 .8 but didn’t seem to fit exactly. Not sure if it’s that the threads are junked up or what.

Might start there and see where you get? I wouldn’t force anything obviously, but maybe a bolt and nut in that size to see where you get?

Perfect. I dont normally ask for tech but when I do it's in the 45 section. Wow. Thank you @Bear .

Of course in a very Mud roundabout way I ended back here, not seeking anything in particular - just checking status. And making sure you aren’t selling anything I might need for my ‘63 SWB. You’ll let me know before you get rid of those rear cab windows, right?:p

Actually, this intrigues me ... from @Bear ...
Japan was still using the JIS screw specs in 1964. Today's ISO screws would be M5-0.80--close but not exact.

I wonder if this is why I’m seeing some issues with new bolt replacement (originals missing) on my rig, including the motor which is ‘64 vintage. And is this (JIS vs. ISO spec) reflected in the bolt lists in other threads?

BTW, Happy New Year.
