Not really digging my tires. I'm currently running Kenda Klever M/T 33x12.50R15 tires on my 62. They are great off-road, but man do they sing down the highway. Any suggestions for a quieter tire that size?

I have the General Grabber 33x12.5r15, they are great off road and low noise on road, the only thing im not happy with is the size of tyre i chose, I wish i had have gone a 35x10.5

There are always compromises... be honest with yourself in terms of needs vs looks. I like A/t tires...

this, long ago i quit buying mud tires.

My BFGoodrich M/T's aren't too noisy, for me anyway.

What tire is interesting in that size?
I'm on stt 35/12.5 r15 now, really stealing fuel. They are badass Offroad, but not a great choice for lots of dd duty.

Was looking at 255/85r16, in bf they are a big 33 inch. This as a compromise, but I'd like a bit taller for clearance.

I run Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX and they are super quiet on road. I have 285/75R16.

One option is to do some noise abatement work on your truck. As in, keep the noise from the tires on the outside...

I've run numerous brands on multiple trucks/SUV's over the years. At present, I'm on my 4th set of Cooper AT3's - but I'm mostly in the city with the exception of grassy fields, fire roads, packed gravel when we go camping, shooting, etc. A true M/T has never been a need or desire.

This.... Going on about a month with them and they are no louder than my wife's Falken Rocky Mountain/wild Peak ATs. Seriously surprised at how quiet they are and have even surprised my buddy who had Terra Grapplers on his truck and say those are louder.

A pic for you.

Yeah. I was shocked at how quiet they are. I new it was a big deal when the windows were down and my wife didn't say a thing! Had them since August and they run great.

I'm not a fan of the BFGs anymore. That was all I had on my trucks since 1999, but I had three brand new ones split on me in the past year...on two different sets of wheels. I'm leaning towards the coopers. How do they compare to the Toyo tires?

My 33x9.5 BFG's were pretty much shot so I replaced them with 33x10.5 Toyo open country mt's last week. Maybe not the most practical choice, but they feel great. Super stable compared to the worn thumpy bfg's.

I'm liking the Toyo stuff nowadays...... I have the open country MTs also.

I've read good things about the cooper MT... if you are going to trail ride...MT are about the only real choice...most everything else becomes one large "donut" off-road.

^^^^ maybe when in mud, BUT, keep in mind not everyone wheels n mud. I see it very rarely, and when I do I have no issues whatsoever with AT tires....

In my work truck I spend probably 40-50% of the time off road, AT tires have been fine. Just avoid playing in deep mud.

I put some Toyo LT 265x75R 16 ATII on my '86 FJ 60 a month ago and have been waiting for snow here in Colorado. Switched to the 16" rim to get a bit more height plus more options in Light Truck series. Well we got foot of great snow Christmas day and we went playing in it last night. The tires were awesome but was in deep powder and i would expect that as the traction was terrific and stopped on a dime.....So fast forward to this am and I ran some paved roads running errands and it was all hard pack and glazed over so true test of this tire. Again was totally amazed at the performance in 4HI and the real amazing feature was the ability to turn at speed and with power on around hard pack corners. No slippage and the side grip was sp impressive. I can recommend these tires for snow and icy conditions but do not know how they perform in the mud. I can feel the tread cleaning itself while going down the road and could feel the grip better than my 2014 Tundra. it is the tires!!

I have the same tires Toyo Open Country AT II LT285/70R17 on my cruiser. Ordered them from Tread Depot delivered by UPS back in Feb. Quiet on the freeway and great in the same snow ScottCo was running in. Toyo has come out with a new tire a in between AT and MT called the Open Country R/T. Check out the Feb. 2015 issue of Petersen's 4wheel off road it also lists other tires.
