I jacked up right rear wheel put it in 4th gear and turned the wheel just a bit. The final drive is 4:11 so you don’t need to turn the wheel much to turn the engine. And then look for the bb or the timing line. Once found, put a dob of white paint on it, easier to see with the strobe. Removing or even loosening the plugs makes it even easier

+1 Pull the plugs - very easy to rotate the engine with them out, and its a good time to check/clean-gap them. TDC is easy with a flash light. Take off the valve cover and make sure #1 valves are both loose. Check the valve clearance on all of them while you are at. Better to hear them than burn them IMHO.

White Out works good as a marker.

Pop open the cover above starter. Put a flashlight on the starter, shining on flywheel. Put it in 4th (or 3rd, or 5th depending on what you have). Rock truck. You will see the flywheel moving. Confirm TDC with #1 cylinder.

You could just use the hand crank...

Put transmission in neutral. Get a breaker bar and fit a socket on nut on your alternator. Turn the breaker bar the way the engine turns when it is running. There will be slack in the forward side of the belt, push in on that with your left hand. The engine will turn and you can then look at the timing marks on the fly wheel when they come up.
